Next, visit the Erwang Temple (Two Kings Temple), an impressive wooden structure on the Minjiang’s banks, built to honor the creators of the irrigation system.
From there, cross the Anlan Suspension Bridge to view two of Dujiangyan’s most famous features — Fish Mouth Weir and Bottle-Neck Channel.
Observe how the fish-mouth-shaped levee and channel guide the river’s waters, then enjoy a walk through Lidui Park and its stunning bonsai gardens before heading back to Chengdu. The tour concludes at the original starting point.
- Mount Qingcheng - Begin with an early pickup from your downtown Chengdu hotel and travel to Mount Qingcheng in a private, air-conditioned vehicle with your guide.
As one of China’s key Taoism centers, this lushly forested mountain was featured in 2016’s Kung Fu Panda 3 and inspired the film’s creators to design the picturesque Panda Village.
Upon arrival, take an electric cart to the entrance and start exploring the temples, pavilions, and other attractions. Hike to Moon City Lake and take a cable car to Shangqing Palace, a must-see site in Qingsheng.
Situated at 3,280 feet (1,000 meters) and originating from the Jin Dynasty (265 AD-420 AD), this intricate complex was reconstructed in the 1800s and includes tranquil temples and an ancient gingko tree.
