- Peake’s Wharf - The first stop will be at Peake’s Restaurant & Bar to enjoy mussels with a sauce made of white wine, cream, onions, celery, herbs, and butter. During the meal, there will be an opportunity to learn all about mussels.
- Province House National Historic Site - The conversation will then shift to Province House, focusing on the significant 1864 Charlottetown Conference held here to discuss the formation of a new country.
- Water Prince Corner Shop - The next culinary stop is at the renowned Water Prince Corner Shop, considered one of the best restaurants in Charlottetown and PEI. Here, a sample-sized lobster roll (half), some potato salad, and a few scallops will be offered. The discussion will include the potato and farming industry on PEI, as well as the lobster and scallop industries. *Please note this stop may be conducted picnic/take-out style due to the restaurant’s size and busyness.
- Lobster On The Wharf Restaurant - The final stop will be at Lobster on the Wharf, located on the waterfront near the tour’s starting point.
The visit will begin at the Lobster Pound to learn more about lobsters. (Please note that the Lobster Pound may not always be open; if so, the visit will proceed directly to the restaurant.)
After the Lobster Pound, the tour will continue in the restaurant, where information about the oyster industry on PEI will be shared. Participants will have the chance to shuck an oyster (naked and raw, the traditional PEI way) and take a shot of PEI Moonshine (water or soft drinks are also available). Photos or videos of the oyster shucking can be taken. Upon completion, participants will receive an official “Islander Certificate” and an Anne’s Chocolate or similar treat.
