Touching History - This was a wonderful visit! The grounds are beautiful and meticulously maintained. Our guides were equally as good and very knowledgeable! Don’t pass up the opportunity to touch history!

Good Choice for Plantation Tour - The tour of the plantation in the tram was informative. The house tour was very interesting. Our driver, Allen, did a good job of warming us up on the way there. It was a very cold day, so it wasn’t good to walk around the grounds, which would have elevated the experience.

Worthwhile tour in Charleston - This is a well run and interesting tour. We enjoyed the different parts - touring the house, the gardens and the slave quarters. The tour guides did a great job.

Beautiful and Great History Lesson - We did mansion and slave tours only due to time we had. They were both very well done and interesting. We especially enjoyed the slave your presentation. Weather was cool and cloudy but didn’t stop us

Not much to see in the house - The house is impressive from the outside and the wrap around porch is so beautiful. But the inside is small and you really don't get to see that much. I was hoping to see the kitchen but all they take you to is a couple sitting rooms and bedrooms; oh and we did see 1 roped off bathroom. The grounds are gorgeous and huge. The snack shop wasn't very good. I had a chicken salad sandwich that I tossed after one bite. My husband had a pulled pork sandwich that he ate only because he was starving. This is the only plantation we had time to visit but I know there are others. I would pass on this one though.

Our experience at the... - Our experience at the Magnolia Plantation was average. The gardens and swamp areas were beautiful and the highlight of the tour. The nature train ride and tour of the house were interesting, but nothing that left us with a “wow” feeling. Our tour bus guide was nice and friendly. He crammed in way too much information about South Carolina and the plantation on our 30 min ride out. It was just too much information to absorb. We got overwhelmed. I think being more selective in the information communicated on the way out to the plantation would be much better.

The house was closed for a private event, and we werent notified beforehand. Don't recommend this one. - One of the primary reasons you visit a plantation, is to tour the house. Not only was the house closed, so we could only see the grounds, but we were told the slave quarters tour was optional and we'd either be returned to downtown at 1 or 2. It wasn't optional, and we had booked a walking tour for 2. Thankfully our driver was very quick to get us back in time, but we nearly missed it. Really poor communication with this plantation. I'd recommend going to a different one.
