Once aboard, observe the crew as they raise the sails. Sail through waters once frequented by Blackbeard, unwind on deck, and envision a time when the harbor was bustling with these grand vessels….
- The Schooner Pride - Begin your cruise at Aquarium Wharf, where you’ll board an authentic tall ship, driven solely by the natural power of the wind. Once aboard, observe the crew as they raise the sails. Sail through waters once frequented by Blackbeard, unwind on deck, and envision a time when the harbor was bustling with these grand vessels. Feel free to bring your own food, but drinks must be purchased on board, including beer, wine, and soft drinks, at your own cost.
- Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum - Although this is not a guided cruise, the exceptional crew is eager to answer any questions about Charleston’s historic landmarks you’ll encounter, such as Patriots Point and the USS Yorktown, an Essex-class aircraft carrier that played a significant role in World War II.
- Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge - Be sure to admire Charleston’s modern marvel with a close-up view of the stunning Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge, one of the longest cable-stayed bridges in the western hemisphere. You can assist in raising and trimming the sails, or simply relax and enjoy the journey.

There’s no better way to enjoy Charleston’s stunning sights as we raise the sails and glide through the waters, passing some of the nation’s most historic landmarks and observing playful bottlenose dolphins frolicking in the harbor. Sail past iconic locations such as Fort Sumter, USS Yorktown, Arthur J. Ravenel Bridge, and the Battery. As a sailing vessel, our route and the landmarks we encounter may vary daily due to weather conditions. Come aboard for a relaxing harbor sail!
- Welcome to bring your own snacks or picnic; however you can not bring your own beverages
- Guests are welcome to go below deck or stay in the shade of the sails to keep out of the sun
- The Schooner Pride is not wheelchair accessible. We will do our best to accommodate disabled persons, but there are 5 stairs then a gangplank to cross to board. The “head” is also below deck and you will need to negotiate stairs to use it.
