Joyful experience! - Wow, what a great tour with Eleni! It was way better than we expected! Eleni is a doll! She is so personable, spoke great english, is extremely knowledgeable and has obvious pride for her country and her island! It was a day and money well spent (and I am a Travel Advisor and very picky!) Highly recommend!

An amazing tour!! - When we were looking for a fun tour of Chanua we found this cultural/food tour. I thought this would be a great way to see Old Town and experience the local flavors. We've been on food tours before, but this blew them all out of the water. Our guide Elene brought us to the funnest places, and we sampled so many interesting and delicious Crete street foods. Along the way we strolled through old town, and she told us all about the history and pointed out places and tidbits that brought the history to life. Her infectious personality and knowledge of the history of the food in Crete turned this into a rich cultural experience. We didn't want it to end!! Highly highly recommended, especially if it's your 1st day in Chania. She will give you all the ins and outs of what to eat during the rest of your trip and you will deeply appreciate all the different flavors that Crete has to offer. Ten stars (out of 5!)

The best way to explore Old Town Xavia - The food was superb but the history and added context really made the experience! Manos was great, such a good attitude and game to answer all our inane questions.

Chania Food & Samaria Gorge Tours - I rarely write reviews, but I was so impressed with the Alma de Creta team I felt compelled to do so. My husband and I had two privately guided tours - Chania’s Food and Samaria Gorge. Chania’s Food Tour with Goldy, our guide, was informative, delicious and delightful. On learning we had the Samaria Gorge tour the next day, Goldy, advised that the strenuous hike would be too much for me. As things turned out, Goldy was absolutely right. We were grateful that Aliki was able to accommodate a last minute change in our itinerary and a second experienced guide was added for an easier hike that I could do in the gorge while my husband did the full hike. Because our tours were private, the logistics of transportation (land and water), timing and ticketing were all taken care of. Without cell service or internet connection in the gorge, and each hike beginning at different times and in different locations, our guides successfully managed for all of us to meet in the gorge at a predetermined location and at a estimated time to share the remainder of our hikes and the day together. The Samaria Gorge is beautiful. With our guides, Roussos and Niko, we hiked the Samaria Gorge at our own pace. We were comfortable relying on them. We learned a lot. We enjoyed their company. The people we dealt with from Alma de Creta are professional and personable. Every effort was made to ensure our safety and wellbeing. They wanted our experiences to be pleasurable. Their tours will remain lovely memories of our trip to Crete.
