- St. Peter of Cetinje - Cetinje Monastery - Guardian of Sacred Relics
After about an hour of picturesque driving, the journey leads to the historic royal capital of Cetinje. The first and most significant destination is the esteemed Cetinje Monastery, a key spiritual hub in the nation.
Originally constructed in the 15th century during the era of the state of Zeta, the monastery became the heart of Montenegrin culture, literacy, and education. It has been destroyed and rebuilt multiple times throughout history. Following the invasion by Suleiman Pasha, it was reconstructed, maintaining its spiritual and national importance.
Within its humble yet sacred rooms, priceless Christian relics are housed: fragments of the Holy Cross, the hand of John the Baptist, and the relics of Saint Peter of Cetinje. These treasures make the monastery one of the most spiritually significant sites in the Christian world — a place of profound reverence, faith, and heritage.

Dajbabe Monastery - After a 40-minute drive, the journey reaches the Dajbaba Monastery. Nestled under the Dajbaba hill, near Montenegro’s capital, Podgorica, is the Dajbaba Monastery. Built in 1897 based on a miraculous vision of shepherd Petka, it is dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Remarkably, the monastery is carved into the rock. At its base, the Dajbabe Monastery features an inscribed church in the shape of a cross. The entrance porch with bell towers is the only part of the monastery outside the rock of the actual cave. The relics of Saint Simeon of Dajbap are preserved within the monastery. It is unique for the harmony between humanity and nature. Here, humanity understood the message and embraced nature rather than destroying it.

Ostrog Monastery - After about an hour’s drive from Dajbaba Monastery, the journey arrives at the most visited and revered shrine in the country — the magnificent Ostrog Monastery.
Dedicated to Saint Basil of Ostrog, who lived in the 17th century, the monastery is dramatically carved into a vertical cliff at 900 meters above sea level. His relics are preserved here, and tradition holds that his body was found incorrupt seven years after his death.
Ostrog is renowned for the miracles and healings attributed to the saint, attracting pilgrims from all over the world, regardless of faith. More than a monument, it is a place of deep spirituality and inner transformation. Visiting this extraordinary sanctuary offers not only breathtaking views but also a profound sense of peace and reflection.
- Bogetici - After visiting the monastery, the journey continues to Koliba Restaurant for a well-deserved lunch break. Here, there is an opportunity to savor authentic Montenegrin cuisine — traditional dishes prepared according to local recipes, offering a true taste of the region.
After lunch, the return journey begins. Along the way, there will be a scenic photo stop overlooking the Adriatic Sea — the perfect moment to capture the beauty of Montenegro’s coastline.
The drive back takes approximately two hours, providing time to relax and reflect on a day filled with culture, spirituality, breathtaking landscapes, and authentic local flavors.

On this excursion, we will visit Montenegrin monasteries. Their architecture, as well as the external and internal appearance, are certainly distinguished by the beauty and uniqueness of the decorations. However, it is not all about that timeless beauty that defies the centuries and the adversities it encounters, but there is also something in the very silence that arises, lasts and disappears. among the holy walls. Montenegro has about 50 holy Christian buildings on its land, some monasteries, and some churches, and over time that small area of land acquires a deeper meaning and importance. The largest number of churches and monasteries belong to the Serbian Orthodox Church, while a part also belongs to the Catholic Christian Church. Cathedrals are mostly located in coastal cities precisely because of the historical events and governments that changed the Adriatic.
