Arrival in Arequipa

Alfredo Rodriguez Ballon International Airport - Upon arrival at the airport or bus station, guests will be greeted and transferred to their hotel in the heart of Arequipa.

Barrio de San Lázaro - In the afternoon, the city tour begins in the colonial district of San Lazaro, the oldest neighborhood in the White City, where the city was originally founded.

Plaza de Armas - Next, the tour visits the Main Square, renowned as one of the most beautiful in Peru, adjacent to the grand Arequipa cathedral, originally built in the seventeenth century and fully restored after several earthquakes.

Church of the Company - The tour includes a visit to the Cathedral and the Church Compañía de Jesús (1590), a quintessential example of local baroque architecture, housing exceptional paintings and murals.

Monasterio de Santa Catalina - The tour proceeds to the Monastery of Santa Catalina, a genuine medieval cloister established in 1579, still active today. This intriguing convent, constructed with ashlar, the primary material of local architecture, spans 20,000 square meters.

Yanahuara - The tour continues with visits to the stunning viewpoints in the Yanahuara and Carmen Alto districts, offering panoramic views of the countryside and the surrounding volcanoes: Misti, Chachani, and Pichu Pichu, creating a truly breathtaking scene.

Arequipa - Chivay

Reserva Nacional Pampa Cañahuas - The journey begins to one of the world’s deepest canyons, The Colca Canyon, passing through Pampa Cañahuas, near the Salinas-Aguada Blanca National Reserve.

Patahuasi - A brief stop in Patahuasi allows guests to enjoy a revitalizing coca tea, a traditional Andean beverage that aids with altitude sickness. During this stop at the Tocra wetlands, guests can admire beautiful birds, such as flamingos. The route continues past the Chucura volcano crater, with a stop at a spectacular volcano viewpoint.

Chivay - The tour proceeds through charming villages, offering stunning views of the volcanoes from a viewpoint, and includes a cultural tour of the Colca Valley towns. Upon arrival in Chivay, guests have free time for lunch (optional) before being transferred to their hotel for a brief rest. The exploration continues with a visit to the town of Chivay and its market, providing an immersive experience in Andean culture at the top of the Colca Canyon, followed by a visit to the La Calera hot springs.

Chivay - Cruz del Condor - Arequipa

Mirador Cruz del Condor - An early start with a delightful breakfast precedes the visit to the renowned Cruz del Condor viewpoint. Guests arrive in time to witness the breathtaking depth of the Colca Canyon and, with luck, observe condors in flight. These majestic birds of prey are among the largest in the world, and watching them soar over the canyon and valley is an unforgettable experience.

Mirador Antahuilque - On the return journey to Chivay, the tour visits the traditional village of Pinchollo and the Antahuilque viewpoint, where guests can admire ancient terraces constructed 1,500 years ago by the Collagua culture, predating the Incas.

Chivay - The exploration continues with visits to Maca, a picturesque Andean community affected by an earthquake in November 1991, and the town of Yanque, known for having the most beautiful church in the valley. The tour returns to Chivay for lunch (optional).

Historical Centre of Arequipa - The journey concludes with a return to Arequipa, where guests are transferred to their hotel, marking the end of an unforgettable adventure in the Colca Valley.
