• Fabrica de Bizcochos San Pedro - Our tour begins in the charming city of Cayambe. As you drive through the distinctive city center and plazas, you’ll arrive at Ecuador’s finest Bizcocho (biscuits) and String Cheese factory. These bizcochos are freshly made from scratch daily. Witness the process of making and baking them in traditional ovens. The bizcochos are incredibly tasty, and when paired with string cheese, they make a delightful morning snack. You can also enjoy dulce de leche (caramel) and a quick cup of coffee or hot chocolate. This stop is the perfect remedy for morning sluggishness.
• Plaza De Los Ponchos Mercado - Upon reaching Otavalo, we will visit the famous Plaza de Los Ponchos. The indigenous Otavalo people are renowned for their woolen textiles, sold at this iconic market. On Saturdays, the market expands throughout the city, but on other days, you’ll find vendors and stands at the Mercado de Los Ponchos. The shops offer textiles like handmade blankets, tablecloths, handicrafts, paintings, and more. The Otavalo market is a treasure trove of interesting and quirky items to take home as souvenirs or to decorate your home. • San Pablo Del Lago - We will pause at Lago (Lake) San Pablo for some reflection amidst the serene and beautiful surroundings. You might spot ancestral kayaks used by locals for races on the lake. Experiencing these ancestral kayaks is a unique and wonderful adventure. If arranged in advance, small boats are available to take you around the lake, offering a cool experience.
• Cotacachi - Cotacachi is a delightful Andean town nestled in the mountains. The town is picturesque, well-maintained, and organized, providing a safe and uncrowded atmosphere as you stroll down Cotacachi’s main street, where you’ll find Ecuador’s finest leather products. Cotacachi is renowned for its leather goods, including jackets, purses, wallets, belts, shoes, and more.
