• Chiesa di San Gaetano alle Grotte - One of Catania’s most beautiful sites. An ancient lava flow cave, repurposed in Greek times as a cistern and later as a Roman catacomb tomb. Tradition holds it was the first resting place of Saint Agatha, with a small church built as early as 262. Today, the crypt still houses remnants of ancient frescoes and decorations carved directly into the rock.
