The tour begins at the Messina port terminal, where the driver will meet you at your ship’s gate. In approximately one hour, the journey will reach Giarre, a charming town situated at the base of Mount Etna. The ascent will continue for another 30 minutes, reaching an elevation of about 1900 meters on the volcano’s north side.

Visitors will have 2 to 3 hours of free time to explore. They can take a moment to admire the Silvestri Craters, cones formed on the mountain’s north side, dating back to the 1892 eruption, which lasted 173 days and covered approximately 7 kilometers, halting just above Nicolosi at an altitude of 970 meters above sea level.
