The guided tour of Catania starts at Castello Ursino, which was commissioned by Emperor Frederick II of Swabia on the site of a former Norman fortress. The castle features a square layout with an inner courtyard and four round corner towers.

After exploring the remnants of ancient Roman baths, the tour proceeds to the Catania Fish Market, the lively core of the city.

From the market, a staircase ascends directly to Piazza del Duomo, encircled by Baroque architecture and highlighted by the Elephant Fountain, a symbol of Catania.
