After exploring the remnants of ancient Roman baths, the tour proceeds to the Catania Fish Market, the lively core of the city.
From the market, a staircase ascends directly to Piazza del Duomo, encircled by Baroque architecture and highlighted by the Elephant Fountain, a symbol of Catania.
Here, visitors will explore the Cathedral of Sant’Agata, constructed over the Roman Baths of Achilles, at the location of the saint’s martyrdom. It was reconstructed following the 1693 earthquake, and inside, one can find the tomb of Vincenzo Bellini and several Aragonese kings.
The tour then moves towards the Teatro Bellini, renowned as one of Italy’s most famous theaters, designed in Neo-Renaissance style.
