Hassan II Mosque - Upon arriving at Casablanca airport, travelers will be warmly welcomed by their Deep Morocco Tours guide/driver, who will transport them to the city of Casablanca. A visit to the grand Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in Morocco, awaits. It is the second largest in Africa and the fifth largest globally. The mosque boasts the tallest minaret in the world, standing at 689 feet, equivalent to 60 stories. It can accommodate 105,000 worshipers simultaneously, with 25,000 inside and 80,000 outside. Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore the Museum of Moroccan Judaism to learn about Jewish life in Morocco. The day might conclude with a drink or meal at the renowned Rick’s Café. Casablanca - Rabat – Chefchaouen
Rabat - After a relaxed breakfast, the journey continues to Chefchaouen via Rabat, the administrative capital. Here, visitors will see the Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of King Mohammed V. The Hassan Tower is an unfinished project by the great sultan of the Almohad dynasty, Yacout Al Mansour, who passed away before completing his vision of the largest mosque. The site is constantly guarded by elaborately dressed royal guards. The tour also includes visits to the Shallah and Oudays Kasbah. The journey then proceeds over the foothills of the Rif Mountains to Chefchaouen, a unique city with white-washed walls and blue doors and windows. Influenced by Spanish civilization and Moorish architecture, Chefchaouen offers visits to the main square (Outa Hammam), Kasbah, and Ras ElMa, providing opportunities to explore independently or enjoy some personal time.

Volubilis - The journey to Fes begins via Ouazzani and the Roman site of Volubilis. After a few hours of driving, travelers will reach Volubilis, a well-preserved Roman empire site dating back to 225 BC, showcasing Morocco’s most beautiful mosaics from the 3rd century BC. A guided tour of the site will provide insights into the Roman Empire. The journey continues to Meknes, the Ismaili capital of Morocco, where visitors will see the fascinating Bab Mansour gate, built by Sultan My Ismail, the granary, and the Sahrij Souani, used for irrigation and plantation. The visit also includes the Mulay Ismail Mausoleum. The journey then proceeds via the highway to Fes.

Fes Exploration Day
Fes - The exploration of Fes, known as “the Spiritual City of Morocco,” begins with a morning dedicated to exploring the Medina and its alleys. Visitors will see sites of cultural and historical interest, including the Jewish quarter, the famous Al Karaouine Mosque and University (the oldest in the world), the Madrasa Bouanania, the Tanneries, and the Najjarine fountain. After lunch, the tour continues outside the Medina to see the Royal Palace gate, walk through the Jewish quarter “the Mellah,” and visit the pottery cooperative. In the afternoon, a drive to one of the fortresses offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the entire Medina of Fes.

The journey continues through the expansive high desert, with changing scenery hinting at the desert as travelers approach Er Rachidia. The journey proceeds along the lush Ziz Valley and the Tafilalet date palm grove, renowned for date cultivation. This area is the foundation of the Alaouite dynasty, the current ruling royal family in Morocco. Upon arrival in Merzouga, travelers will mount camels led by an experienced camel man to explore the sand sea of Merzouga.

The journey continues to Tinghir and Todra Gorges, the highest and narrowest gorges in Morocco. After lunch in the heart of the gorge, the drive continues through the Dades Valley, where majestic sand castles and the amazing rock formations known as “monkey toes” can be seen.

Ait Ben Haddou - After a leisurely breakfast, the journey to Marrakech begins, following the Caravan trail, which was the main route of the 17th century linking Marrakech to Timbuktu in Mali. The first stop is Ait Ben Haddou, offering numerous photo opportunities. The Kasbah, built by Et Hami El Glaoui, one of the last Berber chieftains, is now home to many Glaoui people. The journey continues through the majestic Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260m) over the High Atlas Mountains, with stops along the road to enjoy the beauty of the mountains and authentic Berber villages built into the High Atlas range.

Marrakech Exploration Day
Marrakech - A morning guided tour of Marrakech, “the Red City of Morocco,” is planned. The local guide will ensure that all sites of historical and cultural interest are visited, including the Koutoubia Minaret, the Saadian tombs, the beautiful Palace of Bahia, and the Ben Youssef Koranic School. The morning concludes with a walk through the medina alleys, offering a chance to admire various artisans at work before arriving at the famous Jamaa El Fna Square. Lunch will be at a restaurant near the square, followed by an afternoon visit to the Majorelle gardens and a short tour of Gueliz, the new city of Marrakech. After dinner, there is an option to walk through the square, entertained by magicians, storytellers, tooth pullers, and food sellers.
