Casablanca - Rabat - Meknes – Fez Medina (5-6 hour drive)

Casablanca - Rabat - Meknes – Fez Medina (5-6 hour drive)
Old Medina of Casablanca - Begin your journey at Casablanca Airport or City (the tour can also commence from Marrakech or Rabat, depending on your flight). Upon arrival at the airport, a placard with your name will be held, and if the pick-up is from a hotel or Riad, contact will be made with you or the host by phone. Depending on your arrival time, the first visit will be to the promenade ‘Cornish’ by the Atlantic coast, followed by Casablanca’s iconic Hassan II mosque, the second tallest tower in the world. Guided visits are available from September to June, Saturday to Thursday at 9am, 10am, 11am, and 2pm, and on Friday at 9am and 2pm. In July and August, visits are daily at 2:30pm.
Proceed to Rabat for lunch at a restaurant, then meet your guide for a walk around Oudaya’s Kasbah, constructed by Moulay Ismail from 1672 to 1727 to protect the city. Explore the Hassan Tower, a massive mosque, and visit the stunning Mausoleum of Mohammed V, known for its stained glass windows, white marble, and wrought-iron entryway.
Rabat Old Town - Travel north to Rabat, the capital, and stop for lunch. Stroll around the Oudayas fortress, built by Moulay Ismail from 1672 to 1727 for city protection. Visit the Hassan Tower and the beautiful Mohamed V mausoleum, featuring stained glass windows, white marble, and a wrought-iron entryway.
Medina - Continue to Meknes, one of Morocco’s four Imperial Cities, established as the capital by Sultan Moulay Ismail (1672-1727). Drive around the city walls, take a short walk through the large water reservoir Sehrij Souani, Royal granaries, and stables. Visit Bab El Mansour gate, EL-Hddim Square, Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, and the imperial palace.
Fez Mellah - Depart Meknes for Fez.

Fez Mellah - Enjoy a full-day guided tour of the Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage site, with a local official guide. Start at the Royal palace and walk to the Jewish quarter ‘Mellah’. Head to the Kasbah Borj fortress for a panoramic view over the Medina, which you will explore next. Visit the Ceramic and Fez tiles local factory. Begin your journey at the Blue Gate, navigating through narrow streets, stopping at the Qarawiyyin Mosque/university, Nejjarine Square, Chouara Tanneries, Bab BouJeloud gates, Rcif Square, and many other fascinating sights. Return to your Riad in the afternoon and enjoy dinner in the evening.
Fez - Ifrane - Azrou - Midelt - Ziz Valley - Merzouga - Erg Chebbi Desert (7 hours’ drive).
Ifrane National Park - After breakfast, travel south toward the Middle Atlas Mountains. The first stop is Ifrane, often referred to as the ‘Switzerland of Morocco’, bustling during winter due to its main ski resort.
Azrou Cedar Forest - Next, visit Azrou, surrounded by mountains and Cedarwoods, known for the Barbarian Makak monkeys. Stop to visit the monkeys.
Midelt - Continue driving through the Middle Atlas Mountains, enjoying beautiful scenery filled with valleys of Apple, Apricot, and Plum vegetation. Stop for lunch at Midelt. Cross the High Atlas Mountains via various road passes, with the landscape quickly changing to Palm groves. Stop for panoramic pictures and breaks.
Merzouga Desert - Arrive in Merzouga and check-in at your Kasbah Hotel on a half-board basis.

Erg Chebbi 4x4 Safari tour around the Dunes (Camel trekking & overnight at the desert camp)
Khamlia Gnawa Music - After breakfast, embark on a 4x4 safari to explore villages and tribes around the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. Visit a Nomad family for tea and a chat to learn about their daily life. Stop at wild fossils and various villages in remote areas. A visit to Khamlia village is essential, inhabited by an old slave tribe. Enjoy a warm welcome from the Gnawa music band and mint tea refreshment. Lunch on special Berber Pizza, locally known as Madfouna.
Erg Chebbi - Enjoy a free afternoon with optional activities: sandboarding, buggy, and quad biking. Camels will be ready around 5 pm for a 1-hour camel trek on the sand dunes during sunset, the perfect time for photos as the sand turns red against the beautiful sky. Arrive at your Desert camp, check into your private tent, and enjoy a special evening with a delicious dinner and campfire featuring drum players and Berber music. Overnight in a private luxury tent under a starry, clear sky.
Erg Chebbi - Tinejdad - Todra Gorges - Tinghir - Dades (4-5 hour drive).
Merzouga Desert - Wake up early to witness the sunrise from the top of the dune. Breakfast will be served at the camp, followed by a camel ride back to the starting point.
Rissani Market - The vehicle will pick you up and head northwest toward Rissani, a city once a caravanserai trading center, historically known for its Gold and Slave auctions and as the current dynasty’s hometown.
Todra River - Travel to the High Atlas Mountains toward Tinghir, one of the most beautiful oases surrounded by mountains and canyons. Drive along the Todra mountain gorge, a contrasting valley with rocky canyons and huge palm trees. Take a short walk in the gorge and break for lunch.
Dades Gorges - Continue to Dades mountain gorge and valley, stopping for the Monkeys paths mountain formation and numerous photo opportunities. Overnight in a guest house overlooking the valley.
Dades - Ouarzazate - Ait Benhaddou - Telouet - Marrakech (5-6 hour drive)
Kasbah Amridil - Head to Ouarzazate in the morning via the Rose Valley and the road of a thousand Kasbahs. Pass by the Skoura Oasis and the famous Amridil Kasbah, dating back to the 17th century, with an optional visit.
Ouarzazate - Continue the journey to Ouarzazate, known as the Moroccan Hollywood due to the numerous films shot here. (Optional Cinema Studios visit for 1 hour).
Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou - Next, visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, built in the 11th century and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987, where films like Lawrence of Arabia, The Jewel of the Nile, Gladiator, and Alexander were filmed. Lunch here.
Ounila Valley - Continue through the beautiful Ounila Valley, a former caravan route from the Sahara over the Atlas Mountains to Marrakech.
Telouet - Reach the Kasbah of Telouet, once the seat of the powerful Glaoui family, who controlled the region and were granted political power in southern Morocco by King Moulay Hassan. Shortly after Telouet,
Tizi n’Tichka - Resume the trip on the main road over the High Atlas Mountains, stopping for breathtaking views as you ascend. Cross the mountains via the famous Tizi-N-Tichka pass-road, the highest tarmac road in Africa at 2260m/7500ft, offering panoramic views over Berber villages and stunning landscapes. Stop for a break and photos.
Medina of Marrakesh - Descend from the High Atlas to reach the vibrant Marrakech and explore its old city Medina, enjoying a wonderful night in one of its many Riads.
