Casablanca to Fes
Kasbah des Oudaias - Depart from Casablanca to Fes, stopping in Rabat, the capital of Morocco, for a city tour. This includes visits to the Kasbah of Oudayas, the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohamed V, and the Chellah Kasbah. Continue through the arid-semi desert landscapes of the Chichaoua plain before reaching Chiyadma, the land of wild Argan trees. Arrive in Essaouira, a charming and colorful town on the Atlantic Coast, built on a rocky peninsula. Broom and mimosa were planted to stabilize the dunes. The Medina, or ancient Mogador, is a Portuguese fortified port city and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Essaouira is known for its thuya wood workshops, art galleries, and seafood. Enjoy its tranquility, narrow streets, impressive walls, doors, and pretty fishing port, where you can savor grilled fish at nearby restaurants. Visit the “Skala de la Kasbah,” an old 200-meter-long battery with aligned Portuguese guns. In the afternoon, return to Marrakech.
