Truly Outstanding Experience! - We had an incredible 9-day trip throughout Morocco thanks to DesertTrip and our amazing driver, Said. Everything was so well organized — from the cities like Casablanca, Rabat and Fes to the desert — and the itinerary gave us the perfect mix of adventure and cultural experiences. Riding camels at sunset, zooming through the dunes on ATVs, and sharing Berber pizza with a welcoming Nomad family were unforgettable highlights. The food was fresh and delicious throughout, and every guide we met was passionate and knowledgeable. DesertTrip was flexible, responsive, and made the entire trip memorable. Once again huge shoutout to our driver Said, who ensured that we had a truly authentic experience of both the Moroccan landscape and culture.

Best tour in Morocco - About DeserTrips Agency: - Service: excellent, quickly reply, attentive - Driver: kind, patient, dedicated, responsible (Said was amazing) - Logistic: well organized, punctual, a tour guide is always waiting for us in every place, car is clean and comfortable, changes can be arrange quickly. About the Tour: - Pros: flexibility, personalized, covers all moroccon highlights, carefree about luggage and transfers. - Cons: lunch, entrances and gratuity will double the expenses; 4 days in car driving for aprox 4h per day can be exhausted but you will have several stops. Riads are charming and beautiful but have the same breakfast (not buffet and mostly carbs) and have least amenities compared to hotels. From best to worst Riads that we stay: Dade Valley, Fes, Marrakech, Chefchouen and Merzouga. Recommendation: be proactive with the itinerary, ask every detail to improve communication of what to expect, how to be prepared and what do you want. I prefer to start in Marrakesh and finish in Casablanca (the best first). At the end, we were tired. About the Places: - Most beautiful mosque in Casablanca - Chefchaouen is a pintoresc town, more nightlife - Fes deserve a better tour and maybe more time, old medina is overwhelming - Merzouga is the most difficult place to be but riding camel into the dunes is the top experience in Morocco -Breathtaking nature views: dunes in Sahara, Toughdra Gorges and Dades Valley - Ourzatate historical places used in cinema: Kabash Amridil and Ksar Ait Benhaddou - Best city: Marrakesh (spend more days here if you can, shop only here) About Morocco: - Pro: rich culture, beautiful nature, good food, hospitality, affordable, flexible (as muslim country), poliglot, safe and clean, spectacular craftsmanship, friendly with kids. - Cons: heat (A/C not popular, few shadows), no credit card accepted in most places, it's tiring to haggle over prices and probably you will end up ripped off. Morocco is a stunning country and so underrated. You will not regret this tour specially if you go with your family. Tips: - Bring a lot of cash and change quickly asap ($10-15 USD per adult every lunch, $5-10 gratuity for everything, $5-20 entrances fees) - Don't forget sunscreen and breathable clothes with UV protection (no need to cover all skin as women) - Don't overpack, shopping is great - Be careful if you go with children under 8 years old, more risk of GI issues as my son had - Avoid during summer (June to August -- the heat is unbearable)

This 10-day Moroccan adventure with DesertTrips confidently say was the trip of a lifetime!!! - From the moment i landed in Casablanca to the final moments in Marrakech every part of the journey was thoughtfully planned and beautifully executed. the entire experience was seamless relaxing and filled with unforgettable moments traveling by wonderful, clean, and comfy vehicle from Casablanca to Chefchaouen, to Fes, to Merzouga, to Marrakech. Top Notch! Any questions I had were quickly answered via email. I started with a list of the exciting adventures I was looking to have (camel rides, quad biking in the desert, Hammam experience, and traditional cooking class...). The customer service team was awesome and very patient in helping plan the trip with me continually making tweaks until I was happy with the route. I asked for riads/hotels in the city centers not too far from the vital sites and that's exactly what we got. I loved all the riads I stayed in and the central locations made life very simple which is what I wanted. I met my outstanding driver/guide Hassan at the airport. He was very kind, attentive, timely, and friendly, always sharing insights about the region when I asked, and he spent so much time teaching me about Berber and making sure I was enjoying my experience. Along the way, Hassan was always ready to stop at so many beautiful vista points or at any time for pictures and take in the beautiful and varied landscape. I wasn't just a typical tourist, I got to mingle with the locals and even share a meal with them. I was lucky to have him as my driver and it feels like I'm saying goodbye to a buddy in Morocco. My DesertTrips pack was incredibly smooth and truly allowed me to relax and enjoy every moment without once having to worry about the logistics. The trip to Merzouga was so lovely. I stayed two days in the desert which allowed me to spend a full day in the Sahara exploring so many amazing sights. Watching the sunrise from a nearby dune in the Sahara was a dream come true. I spent a day in Dades Valley and then headed toward Marakkesh through the High Atlas mountains. I ended my trip to Marrakesh and I enjoyed its traditional cooking class and so many amazing things there. Overall I had an epic trip and would highly recommend the DesertTrips team. I've no doubt I'll book through them again in the future. A lot of thanks to the whole team for making my trip so adventurous and the most anticipated of my life!!!

Amazing 10 Day Tour Morocco - Thoroughly enjoyed our 10 day private tour of Morocco with Desert Tours. Our driver Said was the best, always on time and delivering us safely to each of our destinations. Nothing was too much trouble and always telling us interesting information along the way. Thank you Said for making our trip so enjoyable. The hotels and riads we stayed in were all amazing and always close to the best restaurants and attractions of each city or town. The local guides were all so knowledgeable and passionate about their local areas. Would not hesitate in recommending Desert Tours for a trip to Morocco.

Amazing Experience in Morocco - We had amazing time visiting Morocco with Omar as our driver and guide. Not only he knows the culture and the history of Morocco well, he is also a safe driver. He planned the schedule well so we didn't feel tired and also did not miss any attractions alone the way. If you ever plan to visit Morocco, request Omar to be your driver and guide and you will be happy.

Amazing Moroccan experience!! - What a great, amazing experience!! It’s not only the views/sights we’ve seen in the different cities/places in Morocco (ie Marrakech, Marzouga, Dades, Chefchoun, Rose city, Fez, Ifran , Rabat, Casablanca, Essoaurie , etc) that are amazing but the time we have spent with our driver/guide Said Ouacha made it more great! He is very kind and knowledgeable always making sure that we are comfortable, satisfied I.e. providing us more time to explore these wonderful cities/areas! I give him a 10 + rating and would recommend him to other tourists!! I also highly recommend this tour by Desert Trips. Don’t miss this if you really want to experience the Wonders of Morocco !!!

Unforgettable Morocco: A 10-Day Journey with Desert Trips - The short version of this review: Desert Trips gave our family memories to last a lifetime. From the moment we landed in Casablanca to the final farewell at the airport right back where we started, they delivered outstanding, highly personalized service. We’ve traveled extensively, but this private tour through Morocco stands out as one of the most extraordinary travel experiences we’ve ever had. From the bustling city of Marrakesh to the history of Fes to the unforgettable camel trek through the desert as a family to the luxury desert camp, this trip was spectacular. Now, the details: WHY WE CHOSE DESERT TRIPS: Morocco had long been on our travel list, but it felt more exotic—and potentially less navigable—than our usual destinations. I read a lot of company reviews. After reading glowing reviews for Desert Trips (they rely solely on TripAdvisor and word of mouth), I reached out and was immediately impressed. Med, the manager, and Khalil, the owner, were kind, responsive, and genuinely committed to creating an exceptional experience from day one. Their attentiveness was particularly reassuring when a health concern arose before our trip—they never pressured us, only showed concern for our family’s wellbeing. That level of care was evident throughout our entire journey. CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE: As we chose the private tour option, we were able to craft our own itinerary with input from the team, and we covered a lot of ground in 10 days: Casablanca, Rabat, Chefchaouen, Fes, the Merzouga Desert, the Dades Valley, and Marrakech, with stops at many scenic and historical sites in between. It was a fast-paced itinerary by choice, and although there were long drives, they were broken up by engaging commentary, panoramic stops, and some sweet surprises. OUR DRIVER: Said, our private driver, was a large part of our journey. From the moment he greeted us at the airport with his towering presence—with a hearty handshake, a big laugh and a tray of Moroccan cookies—he made it his mission to treat us like family. Within minutes, we were learning Moroccan history, and by the end of the first day, my mother-in-law had become “my mom,” a term of endearment he used the entire trip. He was patient with our many questions (and there were many!), sharing insight into Morocco’s geography, climate, and cultural traditions. Said’s deep love for his country—especially the southern region where he grew up—was palpable. Throughout the trip, Said introduced us to local treats like medjool dates, dried figs, and the best orange I’ve ever tasted, bought from a roadside vendor. These moments—while likely planned/scripted —were nevertheless appreciated and memorable. LOCAL GUIDES: Our guide Mehdi in Fes spent the entire day with us and it felt like seeing that amazing city with an old friend. He is warm, charming, and so knowledgeable. We would never have appreciated that city in the same way without him. In Rabat we met Abdel who has a fantastic sense of humor and was also engaging and knowledgeable. Masen took us through Marrakesh and had a history background and a great ability to find the best places in the city to take some excellent group photos of us. We also had a very knowledgeable guide at the Kasbah Amridil, and we enjoyed this visit quite a bit. ACCOMMODATIONS: Every place we stayed was unique—some historic and charming, others modern and sleek. Despite the variability, all were clean, comfortable, and exceeded our expectations given the very reasonable pricing. We didn’t request specific properties, trusting the team’s judgment, and we were delighted at every turn. Our riad in Dades Valley, for example, was newly built and luxurious; others like the riad in Fes, were centuries old and full of local character. A FEW HELPFUL HINTS: • We had two small hiccups: a miscommunication about luggage transport/handling in Chefchaouen and a billing confusion over a meal. Both were handled promptly and respectfully. This company truly wants you to have an excellent experience, and they listen so remember to ask them to clarify any questions you have, even during the trip. I was reluctant to do this as I did not want to create an issue, but in retrospect, it was important to do that as the confusion was easily cleared up and attended to quickly. • Bring tissues/toilet paper with you: not every restroom has toilet paper (a common issue in Morocco, not a reflection of Desert Trips). This is not true of your hotel/riads, just while traveling in some cities. • Be prepared to tip hotel staff, porters, and local guides throughout your stay. Most were excellent, and a few were exceptional—well worth the gratitude. We tipped over the suggested amounts nearly everywhere as the service was quite good. • Entrance fees to the mosque in Casablanca and the Kasbah Amridil are not covered. These are both worth the cost. There are also options along the way to pay some entrance fees on the tours, especially in Marrakesh. We chose to opt out of paying those. The Majorelle Garden cost is fairly high per person. I personally would have just chosen the ticket for the garden only, not the garden/museum combination ticket if I were to do that again. Arrive at the gardens at least 20 min earlier than your ticket entry time as there is a line queue. The company will provide a link to purchase tickets (with a suggested time based on your touring that day) a few days earlier than your arrival in Marrakech as advance tickets are a must. • Expect stops at places like the argan oil cooperatives or rose water collectives. While these are commercial, the quality seemed high, and there’s no real pressure from Desert Trips to purchase. I personally purchased both as I had intended to do prior to my arrival in Morocco. • Walking is a big part of exploring Moroccan cities. Streets are often uneven and involve stairs—Chefchaouen in particular is tough to navigate if mobility is an issue. My 82-year-old mother-in-law managed with grace, but it was challenging. • The breakfasts provided were variable but always adequate. Some were quite good. We all enjoyed them and were grateful that they were included every day. They are very carb-heavy, so if gluten intolerance is an issue for you, make sure you let the company know this ahead of time. This was not an issue for anyone in our family; however, I suspect the company can navigate this issue for you better than you can on your own at the hotels and riads. There were omelets or eggs offered at many places but not all. There were several kinds of bread offered at almost every breakfast. • If you tend to get motion sickness, bring and take Dramamine or something similar. The roads are often very winding and the pace of driving in Morocco can be rather fast at times with switchbacks/passing along the road through the mountains. I think it is much better to have a driver who knows the roads rather than to navigate them yourself, but those prone to car sickness will likely feel it as a passenger in the absence of good medication daily. • Finally, definitely bring a fair amount of cash or have easy ATM access. You will need cash for gratuities, entrance fees in some places, and most meals that are not already covered on your itinerary. There is a high percent fee, sometimes as much as 13% or higher, for ATM withdrawals. Bringing US cash is important as this is a mostly cash society. This is very different than Europe where credit cards can be used nearly everywhere. I wish we had changed over more money earlier to have a little more cash liquidity. We didn’t want to leave the country with too much Moroccan Durham, as you are actually not allowed to do this and we cannot exchange it back in the US for dollars. But there is quite a little dance between having too much and too little cash on hand, so try to anticipate and plan accordingly. The exchange rate is best in cities like Marrakech and Fes if these are on your itinerary. And your driver can recommend places to exchange money as can your hotels and riads. FINAL THOUGHTS: Desert Trips delivered a once-in-a-lifetime adventure for our family of five—my husband and me, our two teenage sons ages 15 and 19, and my spirited mother-in-law. They combine the polish of a professional outfit with the warmth of a family-run business. If you’re dreaming of Morocco but unsure how to tackle it, I can’t recommend Desert Trips enough (and have already done so to several friends). They’ll handle every detail with care, offer you a front-row seat to the wonders of their country, and most importantly, make you feel right at home.

An unforgettable trip to Morocco to experience culture, scenery and people - In a very good season, April, I took a 10-day private tour of Morocco. The weather was generally mild, it was not too hot, and I enjoyed sightseeing comfortably in every city. The driver, Saeed, who supported us on our journey, was very kind and gave us a sense of security while we were on the road, and he also explained the sights and culture of each region attentively. The cities I visited were Casablanca, Schauen, Fez, the Sahara and Marrakech. Each city had a completely different charm, and I never got tired of it. In Casablanca, I was blown away by the spectacular architectural beauty of the Hassan II Mosque, and in the blue city of Schauen, I was amazed by the fantastic scenery that I couldn't convey in photographs. In Fez, we walked through the labyrinthine souks, experiencing the beauty of Islamic architecture and traditional crafts, and the depth of Moroccan history. In the Sahara, I rode a camel through the vast sand dunes, and it was like walking into a movie. In Marrakech, we tasted the best of Islamic art, from the bustle of the lively markets and Jama el-Fna Square to the intricately decorated mosques and madrassas. Riyadh (an inn converted from a traditional mansion) where I stayed was also very attractive. Every Riyadh had a beautiful courtyard, with tiled decoration, arches and carved wood ceilings, all of which were impressively detailed and unique to Morocco. The staff were friendly and I was able to spend a relaxing time in a cozy atmosphere. During the tour, we were able to stop off at a number of UNESCO World Heritage sites, which was a very satisfying journey for those of us who love history. I really recommend this tour where you can experience culture, architecture, nature and the warmth of the people. It was an unforgettable trip that allowed me to fully appreciate Morocco.
