Casablanca ⇨ Rabat ⇨ Chefchaouen

Hassan II Mosque - After breakfast at the hotel, the tour begins with a visit to the stunning Hassan II Mosque, the second-largest religious building in the world open to non-Muslims. The journey then continues to Rabat, Morocco’s administrative capital.

Hassan Tower - In Rabat, visitors will explore the magnificent Kasbah of Oudayas, Hassan Tower with its incomplete minaret, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and Hassan II (father of the current king).

Chefchaouen Blue Expedition - After lunch, the tour proceeds to Chefchaouen via the city of Ouazzan. The drive traverses the foothills of the Rif Mountains before reaching the beautiful Moroccan gem, Chefchaouen. Overnight stay in a hotel or Riad.

Chefchaouen ⇨ Volubilis ⇨ Meknes ⇨ Fes

Chefchaouen Medina - After breakfast, the exploration of Chefchaouen, known as the blue city, begins. This charming, clean, and fresh town offers a stroll around the old Medina with its restored kasbah, Plaza Uta el-Hammam, and picturesque narrow cobbled streets. The town’s Spanish and Moorish influences are evident, providing opportunities to meet locals, wander the souks, and capture stunning photos.

Volubilis - Departing Chefchaouen, the tour crosses the Rif Mountains to the ancient Roman town of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visitors will discover its mosaic floors, basilica, temple, and triumphal arch before heading to the holy town of Moulay Idriss.

Meknes Medina - After lunch, the journey continues to Meknes, where guests will explore the grand gate of Mansour, the Granary, the Swani basin, the old medina with its souks, and Landim square. The day concludes with a drive to Fes for an overnight stay in a traditional riad in the Medina.

Fes Sightseeing

Fes el-Bali - After breakfast, a local guide will lead a city tour starting with the outside of the Medina, including the Royal Palace Gate and the Jewish Quarter “Mellah,” dating back to the 14th century. The tour includes visits to the ceramics cooperative and significant sites within the medina, such as Bou Inania Medersa, the Blue Gate, Karaouiyine Mosque, and the Big Chouara Tanneries. The day ends with a visit to the tombs of the Merenids for a panoramic view over the medina. Overnight in a Riad.

Fes ⇨ Ifrane ⇨ Cedar Forest ⇨ Midelt ⇨ Ziz Valley ⇨ Sahara Desert

Ifrane National Park - After breakfast, the journey continues through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping at Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco.” The tour passes through the largest cedar forest in North Africa, home to Barbary monkeys, offering opportunities for photos and feeding the monkeys.

Midelt - After lunch in Midelt, the tour heads south via Talghomt pass, admiring the beautiful landscapes. The journey reaches the Ziz Valley for a breathtaking panoramic view of the hidden oases filled with palm groves.

Merzouga Desert - Arriving at the Sahara Desert, camels await for a guided trek across the high dunes of Erg Chebbi, witnessing a magnificent sunset before reaching the camp for an overnight stay in nomadic-style tents. After dinner, enjoy Berber music around a campfire under the starry sky.

Tour of The Dunes ⇨ Visit Nomad Families ⇨ Merzouga

Merzouga - An early morning wake-up is essential to witness a potentially unforgettable sunrise. After breakfast, the desert excursion begins, exploring various parts of the Sahara. The tour includes a visit to the lake of Merzouga, home to exotic birds, and a meeting with nomads to experience their traditional lifestyle. The journey continues along the route of the former Paris-Dakar Rally to the Mifis mines, followed by a visit to Khamlia village to enjoy music and dance. Lunch in the village features Berber Pizza, and the day concludes with a visit to an impressive oasis before returning to the hotel.

Merzouga ⇨ Rissani ⇨ Arfoud ⇨ Todra Gorges ⇨ Dades Valley

Rissani Market - After breakfast, the tour departs the desert for Rissani, a former major stop on the Saharan caravan route. If the visit coincides with market days (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays), there will be an opportunity to explore the region’s largest souk.

Todgha Gorge - The journey continues to Dades Valley, passing through villages like Millab, Tinjdad, and Toroug, before reaching Todra Valley, surrounded by mud villages and mountains. A 30-minute drive leads to Todra Gorges, a popular climbing destination with 300m high cliffs. Lunch in the town.

Dades Gorges - The tour proceeds to Dades Valley, showcasing the fascinating rock formations known as “monkey fingers” and beautiful mud kasbahs. Overnight in a hotel overlooking the valley.

Dades Valley ⇨ Rose Town ⇨ Ouarzazate ⇨ Ait Benhaddou ⇨ Marrakech

Kasbah Amridil - The journey continues to El Kelaa M’Gouna, or Rose Town, where over 400 tonnes of rose petals are harvested each spring for rosewater production or export to perfume industries. The Rose Festival is held here every May. Traveling from Rose Town to Skoura, numerous kasbahs are visible among the greenery of Dades Valley. Skoura is surrounded by palm groves and features some of southern Morocco’s most beautiful kasbahs.

Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou - The tour proceeds to Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa,” with the largest cinema studios in Morocco, and then to the famous kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. After free time to explore and lunch in the village, the journey continues to Marrakesh via the High Atlas Mountains, admiring the impressive views and Berber villages. Arrival in Marrakesh in the evening.

Exploring Marrakesh

Medina of Marrakesh - After breakfast, the city tour of Marrakesh, the red city of Morocco, begins. The guide will ensure visits to key historical and cultural sites, including the Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, Ben Youssef Koranic School, and the largest traditional souk in Morocco. After lunch at a local restaurant near the main square, guests can visit the Koutoubia Tower and Majorelle Gardens.

Departure ⇨ Transfer to Airport

Marrakech - After breakfast, guests will be picked up from their riad and driven to the airport in either Marrakech or Casablanca for their flight. This marks the end of the 10-day tour from Casablanca.

9 nights 8 days in Morocco - We spent 8 nights and 9 days with our driver and guide, Said. Thanks to him, we were able to enjoy the trip without having to worry about the logistics , especially the long drives between cities. There were significant travel times on many days, such as from Casablanca to Chefchaouen, and from Chefchaouen to the Sahara Desert. Having Said handle the driving made the journey smooth, safe, and completely stress-free for us. We particularly enjoyed our night in Dades Valley, the accommodation was excellent, and the food and hospitality were truly outstanding. Particularly the location of the accommodation, overlooking the valley, as well as the best homemade almond cookies ! The view and experience in Sahara desert was also magical . Our itinerary was also quite packed, with guided tours, walking tours, and long drives between destinations. If you prefer having more free time to explore at your own pace, we would recommend allowing additional days in your schedule to make the trip more relaxed. Thanks again for everything.

We had a terrific experience working (from Canada) with DesertTrips to build a trip to Morocco in Feb 2026 - I approached DesertTrips reasonably last-minute, having already booked flights. Med did an excellent job organizing a ten-day trip in Morocco. He made everything easy! It was delightful to meet our driver Saîd at Casablanca airport. He drove us to our hotel, giving us details of the following days and facts about Morocco, and assisted us with changing our dollars into dirhams, then left us to settle into our hotel for the evening. Saîd was absolutely fabulous!!! With his wicked sense of humor and vast knowledge of his home country, the conversations were as much the highlight of the trip as were the destinations! This trip to Morocco was on my bucket list for twelve years, so to finally get there & have a perfectly tailored experience for us (a mad travel junkie) & be entertained along the way made the whole experience better than I could have wished for. Everyone was so friendly to us, both guides and local people, and I am very excited to return to Morocco in the future to explore the southern regions of this huge and enticing country. All in all, from pre-planning and hotels to activities, food, guides, and the car to the waving off at the airport—superb. DesertTrips is like Moroccan people themselves—fair, honest, warm and welcoming. Go and go quick!!!

Magical Morocco - We absolutely loved our 9 night trip around Morocco. My husband, our 22 year old daughter and I were amazed at the diversity of the landscapes and enjoyed learning about Morocco’s culture and history. We chose the 3/4 star hotel option and were pleasantly surprised at the hotels and riads we stayed in. They were all very clean, had great breakfasts and were in excellent locations so we could explore on our own in the evenings. They were also near lots of great restaurants for dinners out. The Toyota Prado we traveled in was very comfortable and had plenty of room for us and our luggage. Our driver Said, was an excellent driver and we always felt very safe, whether it was driving on icy roads in the Atlas Mountains or in the crazy traffic in Marakesh. He was always punctual and a very pleasant travel companion. By the way he loves football! The itinerary was really well paced with excellent tour guides meeting us to show us the highlights in Rabat, Fes, and Marrakech. Although we drove large distances there were always interesting things to see and scenic spots to get out along the way.

Morocco and fun with Said - We left Casablanca and arrived in Marrakech. It was an incredible trip; we saw everything, from the mosque built on the sea to the oldest in Morocco. Beautiful cities like the capital Rabat , the Blue city Chefchaouen, and the old city Fez will remain in your heart. Marrakech is unique, with its enormous market. We had the opportunity to visit the desert, ride camels, and even take a quad bike ride. We then met the nomads and ate their food. All the cities had a guide booked for the medina and the main sights. In short, a unique experience that I recommend to everyone. All this was possible above all thanks to Said, our tour guide. He accompanied us through all the cities, making strategic stops at key points around Morocco, such as the "Switzerland" of Morocco or the various farms selling argan oil, rose water, the gorges todra and so on. Thank you, Said, for your availability, kindness, and friendliness throughout the trip. You are unique; we will never forget you.

Excellent tour and would use Desert Trips if we ever go back! - We took a 10 day tour around Morocco and had a great time. Our driver Adi was helpful, friendly, a good driver, and very professional throughout the trip. The tour guides were also extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Our accommodations were clean and in great locations in all the cities we stayed in. The overall experience was phenomenal and we are glad we chose this tour!

Truly Outstanding Experience! - We had an incredible 9-day trip throughout Morocco thanks to DesertTrip and our amazing driver, Said. Everything was so well organized — from the cities like Casablanca, Rabat and Fes to the desert — and the itinerary gave us the perfect mix of adventure and cultural experiences. Riding camels at sunset, zooming through the dunes on ATVs, and sharing Berber pizza with a welcoming Nomad family were unforgettable highlights. The food was fresh and delicious throughout, and every guide we met was passionate and knowledgeable. DesertTrip was flexible, responsive, and made the entire trip memorable. Once again huge shoutout to our driver Said, who ensured that we had a truly authentic experience of both the Moroccan landscape and culture.
