• Camellón de los Mártires - The Camellón de los Mártires is a recently restored monument and a key passage between the Historical Center and the Getsemaní neighborhood. Nearby is the renowned Cartagena Convention Center, which adds interest to the Pier of the Pegasos and the Bay of Cartagena.
• Plaza De Los Coches - This is the most well-known and bustling square in the city, featuring the statue of Cartagena de Indias’ founder, Don Pedro de Heredia, and the portal of sweets, where visitors can enjoy a variety of fruit candies and other treats.

Historically, this square was the site of the African slave trade, with slaves arriving on large galleons brought by the Portuguese.

• Plaza de la Aduana - Originally named Antigua Real Contaduría due to the presence of the Royal Officials’ offices, this square was renamed Customs Plaza in the 1970s when the Customs Administration was established in the same building.

A statue honoring Christopher Columbus, placed on October 12, 1894, led to the square being called Plaza de Colón. However, in the early 20th century, it was renamed Plaza de Rafael Núñez as a tribute to the illustrious Cartagena native who served as President of the Republic four times.

• Plaza de San Pedro Claver - The Plaza de San Pedro Claver is framed by the church of the same name and a row of restaurants, jewelers, and craft shops. It features a statue by Colombian artist Enrique Grau of San Pedro Claver, the Jesuit missionary known as the ‘slave of the slaves,’ contrasting with modern iron works depicting daily life in Cartagena.
• Plaza de Bolívar - This urban space is a symbolic site of the city, rich in historical and cultural significance, featuring a statue of the liberator Simon Bolivar.

Surrounding the park are several notable buildings, including the Baroque-style Palace of the Inquisition, the Herrera-style cathedral of Cartagena, the Palace of Proclamation, which housed the town hall and until 2016 was the seat of the Department of Bolívar’s governorship, the Banco de la República building, and the Gold Museum.

• Plaza Santo Domingo - The Plaza de Santo Domingo is the hub of the old city’s nightlife, with numerous bars, antique shops, jewelry stores, cafes, and restaurants. The square is popular with tourists, musicians, dancers, and other artists who perform near the church of Santo Domingo and the sculpture ‘Gertrudis’ by Fernando Botero.
• Baluarte de Santo Domingo - The Baluarte de Santo Domingo holds particular significance as it marks the beginning of the construction of Cartagena de Indias’ walls in the early 17th century.
