embark on an exhilarating road trip along Highway 1 to Big Sur, renowned as an extraordinary place where the earth and ocean converge majestically.
You will be treated to panoramic vistas of the Santa Lucia Mountains starkly emerging from the Pacific Ocean, juxtaposed with the rugged rock formations and tumultuous waters. This stretch of Highway 1 is recognized as one of the most picturesque roadways in America, and arguably, across the globe. It is a milieu of pristine natural landscapes, interspersed with four state parks, secluded beaches, stony bays and undulating hills.
During the journey, you’ll glimpse the historic D.L. James House, now a property of actor Brad Pitt, traverse the renowned Bixby Bridge, sight the distinctive volcanic rock where the Point Sur Light Station is situated, and pass by the Big Sur River Inn enroute to the popular Nepenthe Restaurant before we make a halt at the Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park.
Please note that all breaks, trips to the state parks and accompanying hikes are completely optional. Also, parking charges for state parks are not included in the tour cost.
