A Culinary Journey Through Carlsbad Village

As a seasoned traveler and former professor of European history, I have always been drawn to the stories that cities tell through their architecture, culture, and, of course, their cuisine. My recent adventure in Carlsbad, California, was no exception. The vibrant flavors of the Mediterranean transported me back to the sun-drenched coasts of Greece and Turkey.

Our next stop was Fresco Cocina, where we were treated to a chef’s choice tasting paired with a refreshing margarita. The fusion of flavors was a testament to the diverse culinary influences that have shaped Carlsbad’s food scene. As we continued our tour, we visited Señor Grubby’s for their famous Al Pastor Tacos, a perfect blend of Mexican and American culinary traditions.

Sweet Endings and Wine Tasting

No culinary tour would be complete without a touch of sweetness, and Froglanders Crepes & Yogurt did not disappoint. The delicate French crepes, both savory and sweet, were a nod to the classic European dessert, and a perfect way to conclude our tasting journey. But the tour was not over yet; we were treated to a wine tasting at Witch Creek Winery, where we learned about the history of California wines while sipping on local favorites.
