- VINS & VINOS CARCASSONNE WINE SHOP - Enjoy a relaxed and informal wine tasting and tutorial featuring some of the finest wine and food producers from Languedoc and Roussillon. Comfortably seated at the tasting table, participants will learn to appreciate wine and taste like a professional; discover how to pair wine with a variety of regional foods; identify key flavors and aromas in wine; and explore what makes Languedoc one of the most exciting wine regions in the world today. The session covers the history of winemaking from Roman times to the present, and discusses important topics such as organic and natural wines and the impact of regionality on wine flavor. Discover what makes Languedoc so fascinating by tasting some of the key local varietal wines and some of the finest Languedoc blends. The wines sampled range in price from €15 to €50, with at least six different wines accompanied by local cheeses, charcuterie, tapas, olives, and organic bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. As an evening or lunchtime activity, there will be no need for a meal afterward! These tastings are available in English, French, or Spanish.

The host is a renowned wine expert and tour guide with 35 years of experience, possessing extensive knowledge of wine and winemaking globally. The tasting event is held in the cozy setting of our wine shop, located in the heart of Carcassonne’s old town, and is crafted to be enjoyable and relaxed.
Participants will enjoy a presentation and tasting of seven to eight wines, paired with a cheese and charcuterie platter. Guests will learn the art of wine tasting, delve into the local wine history of the region, and explore winemaking and grape varieties. Feel free to ask any questions and become well-versed in the region’s wines. While the minimum booking is for two people, individual guests are welcome to join pre-scheduled tastings. Please send a message to inquire about available dates if you are a solo visitor wishing to join a tasting.

Excellent and fun time - Good talk and great wine with selection of local nibbles and cheeses. Alex was very affable and answered any questions we had. Came away with a couple of bottles of local wines, one of which we are enjoying right now:)

An incredible wine tasting and learning experience - My wife and I booked this wine tasting experience in Carcassonne and I can simply say it was superb.
Alex is highly knowledgeable on the Languedoc region and in the wine it produces. He gave an in depth experience explaining the history, heritage and geology of the region and how this has shaped the evolution of wine in the Languedoc.
This has allowed us to take a different view when purchasing wine, especially when understanding AOC classification vs Vin de pays and Vin de France.
We have been lucky enough to return back to the UK with a range of wines that we would probably not have tasted and this is wholly thanks to Alex and his excellent wine tasting experience.
If you are in the area and you want to learn something and experience some incredible wines then we would both highly recommend this experience.

Great Wine Tasing Experience! Highly recommended. - Alex was a great host, personable and generous. He shared his extensive knowledge of wines from the Languedoc Roussillon région. He also provided cheeses, meats, crackers and bread from the région. We tasted 8 different wines and some in side-by-side comparisons. We learned lots of useful information. Definitely highly recommend this wine tasting experience. An excellent value.

Excellent way to be introduced to Lanquedoc regional wines. Book it. - Travelling with friends on a short stay in Carcassone, thought we'd do a very condensed trip around the Lanquedoc French wines @ Vin & Vinos. At just 1 hour we didn't expect much, but it was extremely fun, interesting and Alex packed just a lot in. The hour long event, was shared with other travellers and it added to the lovely atmosphere. We tasted 4 regional wines, all really lovely, helping you navigate the extensive range of wines on offer in Carcassone. Would highly recommend this, its fun and great value for money, if you dont do it, you're missing out.

Best wine tasting ever. - Alex was a wonderful host and a group of us - five friends from Ireland enjoyed it immensely. His knowledge of wine is incredible and he delivers it with humour and expertise. We were there for 3 hours - was scheduled for 2 - but we had so many questions to ask and Alex was so approachable.
We sampled 7 wines with lovely cheeses hummus salamis and sour dough.
We would highly recommend this wine tasting.

Brilliant wine tasting with no need to sit in hot coaches and cars. - Easy to book. In the centre of the new town.
Our host was welcoming and made the whole experience excellent. Perfect English!
Our host kept everyone engaged and answered all questions regardless of wine knowledge.
Great tour of local wines accompanied with cheeses, bread, water, and other nibbles.
Learned loads and drank some excellent wine. 100% recommend!

Wow! Fantastic your with very informative host. - The chocolate and wine tour was amazing and Joyce was a wonderful host. She gave us lots of interesting historical facts about Carcassone and we visited places we would never have been to. Both chocolate and wine establishments were outstanding and Joyce engaged with us throughout; making us feel at ease.
We would recommend to anyone and this is a must if visiting Carcassone! Thank you so much Joyce 😁

Great experience & good value - We had a lovely couple of hours at this wine tasting. We learnt a lot about different wines from the region accompanied by delicious meats, cheeses and bread. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and bought some of our favourite wines from the tasting to take home with us. Would definitely recommend!

A lovely way to spend a couple of hours - A fantastic couple of hours in the company of Alex who certainly knows his wines. Tried several different wines accompanied by a lovely selection of cheeses & meats. Great value for money.
