Visiting the Ancient City of Caral - Wow, what a memorable tour! My tour guide, Jesus, was so much fun to be with and so full of knowledge and trivia about Caral as well as the area we passed through on our way. Be prepared for a long car ride; thankfully there are lots of places to stop along the way to pick up snacks. Wear comfy clothes and shoes the trails are a little rocky and sandy. The area reminded me of Chaco Canyon in New Mexico, USA.

Can’t recommend this tour enough! - First things first, this is NOT the typical tour you’re used to in Peru - there’s no shuttle bus that comes to pick you up, you’re not offered a scheduled breakfast/lunch buffet at the same restaurant to/from your destination. More like - imagine you are on a road trip with two new Peruvian friends. You’re stopping at gas stations and small spots on the side of the road and in small towns for snacks/food/drinks/other goodies. It feels extremely authentic and very much a “dive right in” kind of experience. If that’s not for you, don’t do this tour. For me, I can’t say enough wonderful things about this experience. It was one of the best days I had on my visit to Peru, and without a doubt one of the best and most unique experiences I’ve ever had while traveling. I was picked up promptly on time directly in front of my hotel by my guide, Axel, and the driver, Roberto. Axel was extremely friendly and knowledgeable for the duration of the ride to Caral - providing me with information about Lima’s fascinating history. On the way to Caral, we stopped several times to get snacks/food/coffee, including at a small restaurant near strawberry fields. I got to pick some strawberries which was an unexpected but absolutely welcome part of the day. Upon arriving to Caral, the wonderful experience continued. Axel guided me around the ancient city, providing information about the history and discovery of Caral. He took photos of me in front of the pyramids and we even took some photos together! It was nothing short of a magical experience. When we were leaving Caral, Axel asked me if I wanted to go to another site on the way back to Lima, Vichama. I said of course! He and Roberto took me there as well, for no extra charge. I really couldn’t believe the hospitality and service I was receiving - truly above and beyond. Perhaps most importantly, as a solo female traveler and with nobody else on this tour, I felt completely, 100% safe with Axel and our driver, Mr. Roberto, for the entire trip. As I mentioned previously, it was like I was taking a road trip along the coast with two new Peruvian friends. Do yourself a favor and book this tour if you’re the type to want a more authentic, intimate travel experience. And definitely try to get Axel as your guide and Mr. Roberto as your driver!

Excellent organization - Trippers Peru is excellent travel agency. At the beginning we were not sure to go with them to Peru (there was no review after 2019 - because of COVID) but something told me to go... And I was right! Organization was perfect (everything on time - transport, buses, guides,...), hotel were very good (good quality, super location - especially in Cusco), guides also. Highly recommended!

Well worth the effort - This was a fantastic experience. It requires a full day commitment for trip from Lima, but you won't be disappointed. The location is among the most remote I have been to and I have visited sites throughout Mexico and Central America for the past 20 years. I took a private trip. My guide Jesus was superb.

IT WAS TERRIBLE, WE GOT SCAMED. - This company is horrible. They ignored all our messages and calls, didn’t pay for multiple dinners, bus tickets, and a hotel that was all supposed to be included. If you’re looking for a good trip DONT USE THIS COMPANY.

This Tour Is Fraud - We booked a private tour for two in English with lunch Our tour guide spoke a maximum of 10 English words, and spent her time with headphones on watching a movie or sleeping. When we asked her questions about Caral city, she said in broken English that she doesn’t know history very well and offered us an alternative of a coral city park tour guide who spoke Spanish only. Since the tour is about 10 hours long, most of which you spend in the car, we have asked about the promised lunch there was no lunch we were offered to buy an only option to buy a small bag of cookies for 5 soles. The tour is a scam that has ruined our stay in Lima.
