The driver and tour guide will pick up the guests from their hotel at 9:30 AM. The first destination is Göreme Panorama, an ideal spot to admire Cappadocia’s famous fairy chimneys.
Following this, there will be a 40-minute drive from Göreme Panorama to Derinkuyu Underground City, the largest and deepest underground city in the Cappadocia region. The origins and purpose of Derinkuyu remain a mystery, with no definitive answers about its construction, capacity, or depth. Although theories abound, it is believed that up to 20,000 people may have lived there at one time. The city featured churches, food storage, livestock stalls, wine cellars, schools, and commercial spaces. It also had a ventilation system to filter smoke and an irrigation system providing drinking water from wells fed by an underground river. Such places highlight the extraordinary ingenuity of humans.
The next stop is Ihlara Valley, where there will be a 15-minute walk near the lunch restaurant. After hiking, lunch will be served in a local restaurant in Belisirma Village, offering a taste of the local cuisine of Ihlara Canyon.
Post-lunch, the tour will continue with a 30-minute drive from the middle of Ihlara Valley to Nar Crater Lake. Upon arrival, there will be a stop at a panoramic viewpoint to capture photos of Nar Crater Lake.
After photographing Nar Crater Lake, the tour will head back towards the Göreme area, approximately a one-and-a-half-hour drive. A stop will be made at a local Onyx Workshop to view various gemstones and jewelry. The final stop on the Green Tour is the picturesque Pigeon Valley, which connects Uchisar to Göreme. The valley is named for its numerous pigeon houses, historically used by farmers to collect droppings as a natural fertilizer.
The tour will conclude with a return to the hotel around 6:00 PM.
