• The Butchart Gardens - Begin your evening with a self-guided tour of the enchanting Butchart Gardens Magic of Christmas, where the grounds are illuminated by over 300,000 sparkling lights. Spend approximately an hour exploring the radiant pathways and enjoying the delightful 12 Days of Christmas displays. This year, the beloved outdoor skating rink makes a return—book your session in person at the Information Centre. Skate rentals are available on a first-come, first-served basis for a fee, with both admissions and rentals being additional costs. You might also enjoy festive brass performances or traditional carolers during your visit.

This magical, annual transformation offers perfect photo opportunities and unforgettable holiday experiences. The Magic of Christmas runs from December 1 to January 6, 2026, and is closed on Christmas Day. Garden hours are 3pm–9pm, with viewing allowed until 10pm.

• Centennial Square - Discover the captivating Lights of Wonder at Centennial Square, a walk-through holiday light village featuring glowing tunnels, sparkling displays, and festive music. Thousands of dazzling lights create a magical ambiance ideal for photos and memorable holiday experiences. The event starts on November 29 at 4pm and continues nightly through New Year’s Eve.

This year, the popular Ferris wheel returns from December 19 to 31. Rides are free, with donations kindly accepted.

• Chinatown - Explore Victoria’s Chinatown during the holidays, where glowing lanterns and seasonal decorations transform Canada’s oldest Chinatown into a vibrant festive scene.

Stroll through the iconic Fan Tan Alley—Canada’s narrowest street—where twinkling lights, small shops, and cozy passageways create a charming Christmas atmosphere.

• Legislative Assembly of British Columbia - Experience the holiday glow of British Columbia’s iconic Legislative Building, beautifully outlined with more than 3,300 shimmering lights. Completed in 1898, this architectural landmark serves as the seat of provincial government and becomes one of Victoria’s most photographed sights during the Christmas season.
• Empress Hotel National Historic Site of Canada - Enjoy a stunning waterfront view of the iconic Fairmont Empress Hotel.
