BeUtiful trip with wildflowers galore. - I enjoyed the tour with Gordon. He was very informative and we had a full day. I am an ex-South African and grew up in the Western Cape. I had not visited these places and found it very interesting. The countryside is beautiful and green with the wheat fields. The flowers in the West Coast National Park were plentiful and beautiful. The olive oil and wine tasting were interesting and it is amazing how many uses olives have. I could have spent more time at the Kwa ttu learning about the San. We both enjoyed the day.

Great tour and guide - This was an excellent full-day tour that allowed us to learn about the San people, see wildflowers, and explore many highlights of the West Coast. We also enjoyed an extra stop at Signal Hill at the end of the day with fantastic views of Cape Town, Table Mountain, and the ocean. Gordon was a very enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide/driver, he made it a truly memorable day for us.

West Coast is a must see! - The West coast tour was amazing. Olive oil/olive tasting/wine tasting was delicious. Perfect light snack. The Kwa Ttu San cultural exhibit was a great experience. The Fossil museum is an active dig site with more fossils than anywhere in the world. Huge bones easily recognizable poking out. So many it looked like they had been put there. A must see for kids and adults. The lunch spot on the water was lovely and the park and Giraffes were an added bonus. When locals asked where we were touring and we described our tour everyone’s eye lit up bc the west coast is everyone’s favorite place that tourists never go to. But they should! I will say do the olive oil tasting first bc it can be closed in the afternoon and you will miss it. Gordon was knowledgeable and affable and we had a lovely day with him.

Nive and educational trip - I had a fantastic private tour along the West Coast and at !Khwa ttu. We saw many scenic spots along the way. The guide was friendly, making us feel safe and comfortable throughout the trip. On top of that, he had a great sense of humor, which made the experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this tour to everyone looking for a memorable adventure!

Excellent tour guide! - I had this tour with Nathan, one of the best tour guides I've ever met: he's passionate, clever and knows a lot of things about SA's history. He took me at my hotel and we drove the whole day visiting a lot of things. Nathan knows where to stop to give to the turist the best views and the best landscapes. This experience was one of the best I had in life and I would recommend this tour to everyone who want to visit the best areas of Cape Town, Cape of Good Hope, the coast and the penguins! Last but not least Kirstenbosh Gardens: a very green and peaceful place! Thanks Nathan

Customized tour, best day ever! - Our guide Shavick was wonderful! We let him know what we wanted to do and he customized the tour to be exactly what we wanted. The olive tasting had a huge array of different olive products to try and we enjoyed the cute farm house setting. We spent the rest of the day in wildflower heaven at the West Coast National Park. We toured in Sept during the peak wildflower season. There were endless fields of multicolored flowers spanning across mountains, ocean, and lagoon views. It was a photographer’s paradise. We saw flamingos, zebras, ostriches, many birds, gemsbuck, and eland. Shavick stopped the car for me to get out and take photos anytime I wanted. If it is not wildflower season the area close to the entrance of the park is still very beautiful with a lagoon, sand dunes, and ocean views. I highly recommend this private tour to allow you to pick and choose the most ideal experience for you!

Stunning Private Full Day tour w/Alex! - M My husband and I wanted to see the western Cape region through the lenses of history, culture, and nature. We were lucky to get Alex as our guide. He met us at our hotel lobby with a beautiful new Mercedes C class. He started in the historic regions of the city including Bo-Kaap, the Castle of Good Hope, and Parliament explaining the unique history of the region giving us just the right amount of detail. We then drove along the Atlantic coast seeing Chapman Road with its stunning views. Alex knew just where to stop and helped us orchestrate great pictures when necessary. We saw Seal Island and penguins at Boulders Bay among other things. Alex guided us and helped us buy the right tickets, showing us where to go for the best views eliminating all stress. Then he booked a lovely lunch for us at the waterfront restaurant Saveur in Simons Town. One of the highlights was Cape point NP, where we hiked and drove through the game lands. Alex is a great game spotter setting us up for wonderful pictures. He even found baboons when we hadn’t seen them all day - which was a special request of ours. We were pleasantly tired at the end of our adventurous day and would highly recommend a private tour. Alex was great!

Nothing to do with the Cap region of 2012 - Cape Town, disappointing. We were there in 2012. Cape of good hope, Cap des Aiguilles, when the region was wild, little frequented., dirt roads, ostriches and baboons at will. Today, everything is paved, concrete, shops etc.. organized for mass tourism. What a regret to come back to the end of the world to find yourself behind a colony of buses and cars! As for Cap town, traffic jams on forty km, food in restaurants without interest and expensive, staff can welcome more interested in many customers than quality. Too bad, this is definitely our last visit to Cape Town although we live in South Africa.

It would be 0 stars - but you can’t review a tour that low!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - Right where do we start? The advertisement on Viator states under what to expect that you do the following: 1. Be picked up from your hotel in Cape Town and will pass through Bloubergstrand and Big Bay while drinking north. 2. You will visit Darling for olive tasting. 3. Will visit !Khwa ttu village of the San people. 4. Will visit Yzerfontein in whale watching season, where you may see whales. 5. Visit the West Coast National Park to see the flowers in August and September ( duration 1 hour) 6. Visit Langebaan the jewel of the Cape West Coast. 7. Visit the West Cost Fossil Park. 8. Visit the Simply Bee Observation Centre. So you might ask what was the issue? Well let’s see shall we: 1. Be picked up from your hotel in Cape Town and will pass through Bloubergstrand and Big Bay while drinking north in a private vehicle ( with WiFi & bottle water) We had no issues with this aspect of the trip and were picked up from our accommodation on time by our driver, however, the vehicle was substandard with a cracked windscreen, plus there was no WiFi or bottled water. 2. You will visit Darling for olive tasting. The visit to Darling did not take place and there was NO olive tasting. 3. Will visit !Khwa ttu village of the San people. This aspect of the trip took place and was informative and satisfactory. 4. Will visit Yzerfontein in whale watching season, where you may see whales. Even though it was whale watching season we didn’t go anywhere near Yzerfontein and therefore couldn’t even look for whales! 5. Visit the West Coast National Park to see the flowers in August and September ( duration 1 hour) OK, so the flowers and scenery in the park are lovely and well worth a visit. However be aware that the area where the flowers are, is at the far end of the park in an area which is closed to the public outside of the flower season. It is a 25km drive on uneven dirt tracks to get to the flower area which is a minimum of 40 minutes each way, even if you don’t stop to look at the views. The tour allows one hour for this section of the tour - be aware it is impossible to visit and see the flowers in one hour. 6. Visit Langebaan the jewel of the Cape West Coast. Same as the earlier aspects of this tour, I have still not seen Langebaan, never mind visited it. It could be a ghost town for all I know. 7. Visit the West Cost Fossil Park. Well, did we or didn’t we visit the West Coast Fossil Park? I suppose the answer is yes and no - let me explain, we arrived at the fossil park at 14:55hrs only to be told by reception that the last public tour of the park had taken place at 14:00hrs. So we spent a few rand for a 5 minute walk around their small museum. NOT the visit and tour we had expected. 8. Visit the Simply Bee Observation Centre. Can someone please explain to me what the Simply Bee Observation Cemtre is and how it works, because once again we neither visited it nor saw any bees! So you might think my review was finished, well you guessed wrong. In our clapped out vehicle, with its broken windscreen (no WiFi and no bottled water), our driver continually, throughout the journey, broke the speed limits on the R27 even though there were average speed enforcement cameras on several long stretches of this road. Well you have guessed correctly, on the way back to Cape Town we were stopped by the Highway Police, because our driver had been consistently speeding. Fifteen minutes later we continued our journey back to Cape Town with one very unhappy driver who had received a speeding ticket and merit points on his licence. All in all not the day we had been expecting and we definitely would not recommend this trip to our worst enemy.
