It starts on the north face of the mountain with breath taking views of the city and Table Bay, then it swings around to the west side of the mountain, with superb views of Camps Bay, the Twelve Apostles and the Atlantic Ocean. The route involves scrambling (elementary climbing) and exposure to heights (narrow ledges – nothing extreme) about 15% of the way, so you do need a head for heights. No experience required, only a sense of adventure! Hike Duration: About 3.5 hours Hike Distance: About 3 km / 1.9 miles Elevation Gain: 700 meters / 2300 feet

India Venster with OTC Adventures - We had a fabulous trip up table mountain with Lynette from OTC adventures. We chose the India Venster route as it’s a more interesting option but we wouldn’t have attempted the route without a guide. Lynette was great at explaining the various scrambling sections and ensuring we could tackle everything safely and confidently. She has amazing knowledge of the area- history, flora and fauna.
Can’t recommend her enough!

Fenster with fear of heights - Absolutely perfect!
The hike is totally worth it !! but even more important, hiking with Hendre is a wonderful experience...
My partner has a terrible fear of heights... what else could be better to hike Table Moutain via the Fenster path ;)
Hendre was perfect all the way long, she kept on talking to him, doing like we were just walking down the street and suddenly you realized you have just reach the top of it !
Thank you soooo muuuucch Hendre and Lynette!
It would remain one of our best trip memories !

Fantastic hiking experience - We went on a guided hike up Table Mountain with Lynette, and it was an amazing experience! Lynette is a friendly, approachable, and very knowledgeable guide. She recommended the Indian Venster route based on the weather conditions, and it turned out to be spectacular. Along the way, she shared fascinating details about the local vegetation, wildlife, and scenery.
Even on the more challenging sections, we always felt safe, as Lynette gave clear instructions and assisted us when needed.
A fantastic experience that we highly recommend to anyone wanting to explore Table Mountain the best way possible!

A wonderful Cape Town adventure - We originally booked Platteklip but due to a mountain race the route was unavailable. However it was a blessing in disguise as Lynette organised us to traverse the India Venster route instead which was absolutely mind blowing! Our guide Barry was fantastic, we were picked up from our hotel and started the route post a beautiful sunrise; from beginning to end the views were spectacular. I would say this route needs a good level of fitness as there are some steep climbs and scrambles, however they are not too challenging and it was a very rewarding feeling completing this route. If you are looking for a fantastic and adventurous way to experience Table Mountain then I could not recommend this highly enough.

Brilliant hike, brilliant guide - Had a fantastic morning out on Table Mountain yesterday. The route was more challenging than a previous one I had done (also with Lynette) - but Lynette was so calm and patient with good clear guidance where it was needed (and appreciated!) that it was a superb experience. I wouldn’t hesitate to use Lynette again. She’s brilliant. Thanks for an awesome trip!

India Fenster scramble - Fantastic experience. Lynette is a superb guide. For the India Fenster route, you need to not be worried about heights and be pretty fit as requires scrambling and some steep uphill sections. Great fun!

Beautiful morning views! - What an amazing day! Lynette was such a lovely guide. Punctual, experienced, knowledgeable and just a lovely person. We headed up the mountain and decided to change our path as it was getting a bit windy. Following Lynette’s suggestion we went left and had a gorgeous hike with amazing views. Thank you for a great Table Mountain experience!
