Wonderful guide, not-to-miss tour - We had 90 minutes with the wonderful Shamiela in Bo Kaap. Her knowledge of the local area was incredible, as was her warmth and attentiveness. We went to areas we wouldn't have known about, or felt comfortable in, had we not been with Shamiela. Such a fascinating community. The treats at the end were very special too!

Best Bo Kaap Tour There Is! - This tour is really special. Being shown around Bo Kaap by Sedick, who was born and raised there, gave me a much deeper insight into this area. It was super personal, and I loved hearing all of the stories about members of the community, from rugby stars to centenarians. Sedick’s passion and pride really shone through, and the hour with him just flew by! I’ve done one of the free tours of Bo Kaap before, but it didn’t tell me much that I couldn’t have found in a guidebook. This experience was so much deeper and more meaningful, and I loved this look into the heart of Cape Town’s most iconic neighbourhood. Thank you so much Sedick!

Authentic, nostalgic and heartfelt tour - Sedick was an excellent local guide sharing his childhood stories and his life at Bo-Kaap with us every step of the way. I truly enjoyed the lovely introduction along with apartheid history and his personal reflections. This is 100% the best way to experience Bo-Kaap.

Bo-Kaap Experience w/ Shamela - My grandmother and I really enjoyed our walk tour with Shamela. She gave us a thorough background of the South African history of Bo-Kaap. I loved seeing the traditional architecture and colors of each home along Drop St. and the views of table mountain were spectacular. Her personality was pleasant. Over all we had a wonderful time.

Fantastic - Fantastic visit and our guide Ilyas (who is a local) was fantastic. We also visited Aunty Rodi who welcomed us into her home and baked delicious kusisters ( I don’t think any other non locals can offer this). Great history, hospitable community.

We were so fortunate to... - We were so fortunate to be shown around Bo-Kaap by Sedick, who was born and raised in the district. Walking through the beautiful streets while listening to the strong history, all shared with such warmth and passion, made the experience truly special. Our warmest thanks to Sedick – and our highest recommendations.

Wheelchair accessible option - Sedick was our guide for a wonderful tour, full of stories, anecdotes, interesting sights and fascinating history. I am a wheelchair user, and Sedick arranged an itinerary that was pretty much entirely accessible. I use a motorised wheelchair which made it relatively easy, but I should think a slight modification would make it fine with a manual chair. I would easily go again.
