Fantastic Big 5 Safari at Aquila Private Reserve! - Fantastic day with Safari at Aquila, wine tasting at Fairview and great conversations with Joel! We were meters away from the Big 5, just a couple of hours from Cape Town, in a beautiful resort and a natural reserve.

Outstanding Transport Experience with Joel – Aquila Game Reserve - Joel was absolutely amazing as our transporter to and from Aquila Game Reserve. He was punctual, courteous, and extremely accommodating from start to finish. Beyond just getting us there safely, Joel was informative and engaging, sharing helpful insights along the way, and his sense of humor made the entire ride enjoyable and relaxed. He went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of, which truly elevated the experience. If you’re heading to Aquila, I highly recommend Joel. He’s professional, personable, and clearly takes pride in providing excellent service. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Safari - It was a great experience. Our guide Joel was very friendly. He picked us up right in front of the hotel and drove us to the reserve. He took care of everything so that we could enjoy the day without any stress. We were able to see the Big Five up close on the safari, and the lunch was also very good. The drive with Joel was also great. He told us a lot about the history of the city and gave us some great insights

Safari not to be missed - The Safari was spectacular and exciting, the travel guide for Aquila Game Reserve was very kind and explanatory: during the trip Joel told us about some South African places, from history to culture and various African customs, histories and traditions. Experience highly recommended.

Impressive safari experiences – but for us a short stay is enough - We spent a night in the Aquila Reserve and had a really impressive experience overall. We could actually see all of the Big Five – a moment you won’t forget anytime soon. The facility is very nicely laid out, spacious and overall also clean. The rooms are fine; they might be a little cleaner in some places, but you should bear in mind that you are on a reservation and must not compare it to a classic hotel. For us one night was absolutely sufficient. The two safari trips – one in the afternoon and one in the early morning – are more than enough to see the animals and enjoy the experience. We would not personally recommend several days, as the content of the trips hardly differs and it can seem a bit monotonous in the long run. The large pool is very nicely landscaped, but the water quickly appears polluted as soon as many guests stay in it at the same time. Therefore, we refrained from going in. Unfortunately, we could not fully agree with the general praise when eating. Lunch was good, but dinner didn’t really appeal to us – maybe we’re just a little pickier as Germans, but there was little suitable for us. We also had the repeated impression that guests were more likely to be “handled”. Already after the first drink we were brought the bill without asking for further wishes. This is a shame, especially since there is no entertainment or entertainment in the evening. For a stay in this price category, it seems a bit sobering that you can't do anything more from 8 p.m. Nonetheless, the safari itself was a great experience that we would definitely not want to miss. If you want to see the Big Five and get a taste of real safari air, this is definitely the place to be – we wouldn’t personally recommend just several days.

I needed a ride - was cool. Idk the actual cost to get into Aquila b/c I paid through the travel coordinator but it was an expensive uber. If you’re like me, and didn’t want to drive up to the reserve, book transportation through this. I was picked up from my hotel. There was a group that joined my car ride and we all traveled up to the reserve. The person driving you there, isn’t leading you through the Aquila Game reserve. He was very kind and i appreciated being there so i could focus on the scenic drive while he managed our transportation. Once we arrived at the game reserve, you essentially lounge on the property until lunch. After lunch, they consolidate all guests that seek to do the game drive. The park is large in acres but the animals seemed well positioned to be noticed one after the other. We got pretty close to them. It’s two hours long but that’s really b/c of all the stopping to view and take photos. I wouldn’t go again but it was nice to experience for a first time.
