Safari Big 5 Game Drive Experience

Cape Town Central - Begin the day with a delightful start as you and your partner or group are picked up from your Cape Town accommodation at 7:00 am in a private vehicle with a dedicated guide-driver. The journey along the N1 takes approximately 2 hours to reach the game reserve in the Little Karoo. During the drive, your knowledgeable tour guide will share fascinating historical insights about the areas and towns you pass.

Touws River - Aquila Reserve, one of the premier safari destinations near Cape Town, is home to the Big 5 animals. Upon arrival, enjoy a warm welcome with a complimentary glass of sparkling wine, followed by a full buffet breakfast at the restaurant. After breakfast, embark on a two to three-hour game drive in an open truck or 4x4 with a small group of 6 to 15 people, depending on the truck size. Private 4x4 trucks can be booked on-site or in advance, in addition to entrance fees. After the safari, return to the main restaurant for a full buffet lunch. Relax on the terrace, take a dip in the swimming pool, or book a spa treatment at Tranquil-la, the resident spa at Aquila. Advanced booking is recommended.

Cape Town - Depart from Aquila and return to Cape Town for drop-off at your hotel.

Whale Watching and Wine Tasting

Hermanus - En route from Cape Agulhas, stop at the Hemel-en-Aarde wine valley near Hermanus. A wine tasting at Creation Wine Estate or Hamilton Russell Wine Estate is highly recommended. During whale season (June to November), you may also spot Southern Right Whales along the Hermanus seashores. Enjoy lunch at one of the many seaside restaurants in Hermanus. Spier Wine Farm - On the return journey from Hermanus, visit the majestic Spier Wine Farm for wine tasting and chocolate pairing. Experience Spier’s signature award-winning wines like Cap Classique, 21 Gables, Seaward, and more. There is also a KIDS tasting option, featuring grape juice tasting with two different grape juices and an educational activity sheet.

Robben Island & Table Mountain with V&A Waterfront

Robben Island Museum - An accredited guide will pick you up from the hotel and take you to V&A Waterfront, where you will board a ferry to Robben Island Museum. Enjoy the scenic beauty of Cape Town, the ocean breeze, and seals, with plenty of opportunities for photos. The ferry ride from the Waterfront to the Island takes about 45 minutes. Upon arrival, take a bus tour to see the cells and learn about the Island’s history from a former political prisoner. Visit the prison museum, including the late former president Nelson Mandela’s cell. Afterward, return to the gateway to meet your driver, concluding the Robben Island tour.

Victoria & Alfred Waterfront - V&A Waterfront is a vibrant hub of diverse cultures and nationalities. From waterfront restaurants to exciting activities for all ages, there’s something for everyone. Stop for lunch (own expense) at the stunning Cabo Beach Restaurant, featuring white beach sand and clear blue water. Enjoy the ocean view, fresh breeze, and relaxing music while dining, before heading to Table Mountain.

Table Mountain - After lunch, embark on a tour of the magnificent Table Mountain, one of the new seven wonders of nature. Take a cableway cart to the top and enjoy breathtaking views of the city and ocean. Capture as many photos as you like while exploring the mountain’s summit. Learn about the mountain’s history, encounter small animals like squirrels, and take pictures and videos. Conclude the Table Mountain tour by either walking down or taking the cableway back.
