Hiking Day - Ngoc Con Valley - Mount Angel Eye - Truc Lam Buddhist Temple
Mắt Thần Núi - At 7:30 am, the tour guide or driver will pick up guests from their hotel or homestay. There will be a brief stop at Green Riders House for about 10 minutes to finalize motorbike gear, including helmets, knee and elbow pads, and paperwork. The tour departs at 8 am.
By 9 am, the group will arrive at Mount Angel Eye. Weather permitting, they will drive or walk to the valley and hike up to the mountain’s eye. This mountain, also known as Núi Thủng, features a through-going hole 50 meters in diameter and 50 meters above the ground. It is situated in the heart of the valley within the Thang Hen Lake complex of the Non Nước Cao Bằng UNESCO Global Geopark, known for its charming landscape with vast grasslands during the dry season and lush green lakes in the rainy season.
Trung Khanh - At 11 am, the group will drive to Trung Khanh for lunch. Afterward, they will travel through Phong Nam Valley and local villages, enjoying the serene countryside scenery, farmers working in the fields, herds of grazing buffalo, and endless limestone mountains. The journey continues to Ngoc Con, where they will hike to a viewpoint in this stunning valley, featuring impressive mountains, expansive rice fields, picturesque minority villages, and a tranquil, beautiful river.
Trung Khanh - Around 4:30 pm, the group will visit Truc Lam Buddhist Temple on Phia Nham Mountain, offering a panoramic view over the valley, Ban Gioc Waterfall, and the Chinese border.
At 5 pm, they will head to a nearby homestay to check in, have dinner, and stay overnight.
Nguom Ngao Cave - Ban Gioc Waterfall - Traditional Craft Villages
Nguom Ngao Cave - After breakfast, the group will drive to Nguom Ngao Cave, also known as Tiger Cave. “Nguom Ngao” means “Tiger Cave” in the Tay ethnic language. Inside, visitors will be amazed by the uniquely shaped stalactites. The cave features multiple limestone chambers, floors, stairs, and corridors of various sizes, along with stalactites and stalagmites in diverse shapes resembling a coral reef, a ship, a waterfall, an overturned lotus flower, and a terraced field, all contributing to the cave’s magnificent beauty.
Ban Gioc Waterfall - Detian Falls - At around 10 am, the group will head to Ban Gioc Waterfall, the fourth largest transnational waterfall in the world, shared by Vietnam and China. Upon arrival, they will take a raft to fully experience the majesty and beauty of nature.
Quang Uyen - After lunch in Trung Khanh, the group will proceed to Phuc Sen forging village, where local craftsmen still work manually, relying on long-term experience to choose raw materials and forge steel, applying their own expertise to create high-quality products such as knives, scissors, hoes, and sickles. The village resonates with the sounds of workers beating and hammering steel using traditional techniques and recycled materials.
Quang Uyen - The journey continues to Dia Tren paper village, where 65 households practice the craft of traditional papermaking, a tradition preserved for many generations within the Nung An ethnic group. If fortunate, visitors can witness the Nung An people producing paper from the bark of May Sla (local language) through numerous steps and hear the story behind it. There is also an opportunity to purchase souvenirs like fans, notebooks, or sheets of paper used for drawing or calligraphy.
Quang Uyen - The group will then move to Phia Thap, where the Nung An people produce incense sticks from natural materials. Incense holds significant importance in Vietnamese daily life. On sunny days, visitors can see incense drying along the village roads.
The tour concludes with a journey to Cao Bang City, where guests will be dropped off at their hotel, marking the end of the tour.
