Beautiful views of Mount Cook and surrounding area - The booking process was easy. The team provided preflight information for our safety. Helicopter took off on time. Pilot was very informative and friendly. The views from the helicopter and our landing spot we're absolutely amazing! Given we only booked the 25 min flight, it was still enjoyable, however, next time we would consider a longer flight to see a bit more of the area, fly over glaciers etc.

Tasman taster - Hands down one of the best experiences of my life. Due to the weather, the team had to rebook us for the following day and onto a shorter flight but that did not detract from the amazing experience and scenery. Sam, our pilot was amazing. If I could do this every I would.

Great experience! - We had a great time on the Tasman taster. 30 mins or so. Mark our pilot and guide was a legend. Everything felt super easy going, stress free and friendly. Definitely worth doing this cheaper option (we had great weather though).

When are we going again? - A once in a lifetime occasion ... not if I can help it! I loved it. Ben, the pilot, was caring & considerate. His commentary was helpful, he put us helicopter first timers at ease by his confident & professional ways. The views were so much better, as we're the photos, than all the shots taken along the roadside to get to Aoraki. He also made sure we all got a window seat either on the way up or on the way back. Some good vibes going on. Thank you.

Booking system non functioning. A disappointing experience - Flight was fine, it not what we had booked onto. We booked a 45 minute flight with glacier landing via the company’s own website on the same morning as planned trip. These were the last 2 available places. On arrival at the airport, we were told the flight was not going ahead due to insufficient numbers. This caused much distress. My husband and I were asked to go on separate flights. This was not acceptable, as we had planned a shared experience and memories. We were moving on the following day, so flight that d am was not an option for us. We were then told they had upgraded a family onto our flight, so it could go ahead, moments later that this could not happen as they don’t have a point or helicopter. This seemed at odds with the cancellation was due to numbers, despite the booking platform showing we got the last two places. It was very busy with families celebrating the Chinese new year. It felt like they had moved craft and staff around for maximum profit. Eventually we were offered a 25 minute flight that did not have a glacier landing. This was ok, but the whole experience spoiled by the stress and disappointment. We were fortunate to be able to do a helicopter trip from Franz Josef with another company . This was a far superior experience from start to finish.

“Overpriced and Overcrowded – A Disappointing Helicopter Ride״ - We booked a 45-minute family helicopter ride, expecting an unforgettable experience. Unfortunately, due to weather conditions (which, of course, are beyond the company’s control), the flight was canceled. As a replacement, we were offered a shortened 25-minute flight, and despite the initial disappointment, we decided to go ahead with it. The experience itself was very disappointing. The seating was cramped, and I was placed in the middle seat on the back bench, where the view was practically non-existent. It completely ruined the purpose of a helicopter ride – the amazing sights. The whole operation felt entirely industrial – there was no sense of uniqueness or premium service, which we had expected given the exorbitant price we paid. The overall attitude felt cold and impersonal, like a factory churning out flights with no regard for customer experience. In summary, what was supposed to be a highlight of our family trip turned into a major letdown. With such a high price tag, we expected a level of service and quality to match – but it was far from it. Definitely not recommended.

I was 'crushed' both psychologically & physically 🤕😖😭😤 - I was put in the one seat in the helicopter that meant taking photos was limited. This was not helped because the pilot did not interact with us hardly at all. He was very safety conscious & obviously a skilled pilot but his narration was very disappointing. I found him to be disinterested in his passengers & the sights to lookout for were gone (not helped by where I personally was seated) before I could find a gap through a window to capture them. The ground staff knew I was elderly & had a physical disability but still squeezed me in the back (right behind the tall pilot) with two adult men & a child. I will not use Viator or this helicopter company again!!!

Worst helicopter flight ever! - Was terrible. Made us wait in the cold for an hour. Then stuffed 9 people plus the pilot into the small chopper. My partner who is 6’4 didn’t fit and asked to sit up front. Sorry… weight balance… however the man up front was similar weight but shorter. So got left behind. I am just under 6 ‘ and thankfully no seat in middle so could sit side on so my legs fitted. Landed in snow, took a couple of photos and off. Apparently flew past Tasmania glacier but only saw edge of lake. Pilot pointed out mt cook on rhs but as I was on the left, couldn’t see. Then landed back and that was it. What a rip off and then a $20 fuel surcharge per person. Very greedy operator and totally inconsiderate. I get they need to weight balance but perhaps some consideration for heights too. Not worth it! I would not do it again if 9 people plus pilot crammed in.
