- Four Winds Vineyard - Enjoy a pizza lunch paired with wine tastings.
The Four Winds story began with a miner and his wife who lived on the property in a slab-hut. Her name was Scheherazade, after the storytelling character in The Arabian Nights. Her favorite story described a magic carpet carried by the four winds of good fortune. She named this small farm in Murrumbateman ‘Four Winds’ in the hope it would carry their good fortunes. Four Winds planted their thirty-three-acre vineyard in 1998 and 1999 with five varieties: Shiraz, Riesling, Cabernet, Merlot, and Sangiovese.
- Shaw Wines Cellar Door - Among the wines sampled will be the delightful Shaw Wines Estate Sparkling Cuvee.
Max Crus, January 2023: Shaw Wines Canberra Sparkling Cuvée 2021… quite sharp and bright…the ideal thing with which to celebrate the change of pace … enjoy it. 9.3/10.
Shaw Wines is a family-owned and operated business located in Murrumbateman NSW, the heart of the Canberra cool-climate wine region. The Shaw Family first moved to Murrumbateman over 30 years ago, and in 1998 purchased “Olleyville,” the historic 700-acre fine wool producing property dating back to the mid-19th century.
- Murrumbateman Winery - Many wines to sample + friendly dogs
Mollie (Husky/Kelpie cross) is usually at the cellar door to greet visitors and supervise the staff. She has her own wine label, so if she’s not at the cellar door, she may be in the winery overseeing the next vintage. Being a rescue dog herself, Mollie is proud that the two dog-labeled wines support the ACT RSPCA.
True to the cool climate region of NSW and Canberra, Murrumbateman Winery produces outstanding and award-winning Riesling and Shiraz. Winemaker Bobbie Makin also has a passion for alternative varieties and enjoys crafting a selection of wines including: Fume Blanc, Malbec, Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Tempranillo.
Murrumbateman Winery is a small boutique winery producing high-quality, award-winning wines from locally sourced, handpicked grapes.
- Jeir Creek Wines - Worked hard to create a new look label that shows both where our wines began and where we are going. The Royal Bluebell, now in gold, reminds us of Jeir Creek Wines’ rich history. As the floral emblem for the ACT, it also continues our strong connection to Canberra. The rest is us, modern, yet classic.
Tradition and history are as important to us as modernization and quality. We hope you agree that our new look brings these values together. You will continue to see some of our old labels on our older vintages until sold out.
