5/5 - I had my first solo trip to Banff and I have decided to book a stargazing trip. William was our tour guide and he was very accommodating. He made sure everyone was having fun and comfortable. He also took pictures of us and was very engaging. I had an amazing time!

Banff Stars - This was AWESOME. We loved Two Jack Lake at sunset and how clear the sky was up at Lake Minnewanka. The clouds parted and we saw so many stars, constellations, planets and satellites. Even the International Space Station and Hubble Telescope. William helped with everything; setting up chairs for us, checking that we could see the stars, taking our pictures, providing water and even a yummy snack. The pick up and drop off was very smooth as well.

Nice to get into the mountains but caveat emptor. - We were so excited for this tour and glad the rain cleared out. William was a great guide and took a lot of pictures for us. We were disappointed that many of the things advertised weren’t there. We had dressed warmly but not overly so because there were supposed to be blankets. No blankets. There were hot drinks advertised, but no drinks. There were chairs advertised, but these turned out to be one park bench, which had water all over it from the recent rains and no way to dry them off. Our 83- year- old mother spent a lot of time on the bus.

Starry Sky in Banff - I was drawn to the idea of watching a star filled sky in Banff whilst visiting Canada. This trip offered convenient pick ups, chairs, blankets, telescopes and hot drinks. Sounded well organised and an experience I'd enjoy. Unfortunately, I did not feel it was as well organised as I'd anticipated and definitely not worth the £80 I paid. We were initially picked up in a mini bus and taken to an area which was pitch black and no stars. Told with the right camera setting we would see the 'view'. As none of us were professional photographers we didnt get to see anything. Onto the 'main event' . . . Had to walk for a few minutes to the location carrying camping chairs and picnic blankets.. Again it was pitch black (as you would expect), but guide had no torch etc for us to follow as we stumbled along uneven ground. I used torch on my phone to see where I was going. When we arrived, chairs were set up and we sat there for approximately an hour. There were no telescopes (as far as Im aware) and we were advised to download an app on our phones to see the constellations. A hot drink was provided to those who wanted it. Whilst the star filled sky was lovely, sitting in the same spot, freezing cold with no information was not really the best way to spend an eve. Making our way back to the bus was another dark walk experience and my phone torch came into play again to avoid any accidents. Whilst some people may have enjoyed the experience, sadly I would not recommend it. I was disappointed as had been looking forward to it, but did not live up to my expectations especially for the price.

Ok Stargazing - Disorganized regarding pick-up time and spot causing a loss of 15 minutes of stargazing time. The spot we were taken to (to “stargaze”) had too much artificial light, including headlights from cars. The guide was not knowledgeable about astronomy and relied on an app.

A complete waste of... - A complete waste of money. I got scammed. I booked two events and they readjust their time, which made us missed the other schedule event. We didn't have any telescopes to see anything up close. The tour guide was nice. Not worth $100 to look at the sky. I could look at stars in my backyard for FREE. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Falsely Advertised Tour - DONT BE FOOLED! This tour consisted of sitting on a wet bench after hours at lake Minnewanka while the operator taught guests how to take photos of stars with a smart phone. It did not include the majority of items in the description that made it worth the fee: telescope, constellation facts, hot drinks, or an adequate quantity of vendor provided chairs. Furthermore, the location was not secluded nor is it a "hidden" gem - it is one of the most prominent lakes in the area. Finally the van is an unmarked white van, hard to recognize and certaintly seems like the vendor is ready to change names at any moment. The constant flashing of smartphones also spoiled the magesty of stars in the rocky mountains. This was an overpriced taxi.
