Lovely time on the river... - Great experience, such good fun. our instructor was very clear with his instructions and Patient making it a very enjoyable few hours. You definitely don't have to be at a certain level of fitness anyone could have a go, we enjoyed taking in the beautiful scenery too, passing swans and herons along the way.

When in Cambridge, you've got to try rowing - I booked a rowing taster day for me and my teenage daughter and it was a brilliant experience from start to finish. We were in a group of eight people - some people came in pairs, others by themselves but none of us had rowed before so we were all in the same boat - (rubbish) pun intended. The session began with a short introduction to the sport then we spent half an hour on a rowing machine after being taught the basic technique. Our coach made everything really simple and didn’t bamboozle us with rowing jargon which was a relief as it was only our first outing. After some riverside tutoring, we took an eight out onto the river and put what he'd taught us into practice on the water. Thanks to clear coaching, plenty of patience, and a good sense of humour from everyone we were soon rowing down the river pretty much in time together. We made a lot of progress in a short space of time, and it’s a really fun way to spend a couple of hours on the River Cam. Be warned - you might come away with the rowing bug.

Amazing Rowing Experience - I had an absolutely outstanding experience with Cambridge Rowing Experience and cannot recommend it highly enough. As someone interested in improving my sculling skills, this was exactly the kind of high-quality coaching I was hoping for. The session began in a double scull with the coach seated in the bow seat, which was an incredible way to learn. Having the coach in the boat provided immediate, real-time instruction on every part of the stroke from blade placement and balance to timing, rhythm, and body position. The instant feedback made such a difference, and I could feel my technique improving with every stroke. The coach was exceptionally knowledgeable, patient, and encouraging, breaking down the movements in a way that was easy to understand while still feeling appropriately challenging. The highlight for me was then progressing to a single scull. Transitioning from the double to rowing independently felt both exciting and empowering, and the support remained excellent. The coach continued to provide real-time coaching from the bank, offering clear technical guidance and corrections as I rowed. This combination of independence on the water with expert observation from shore was incredibly effective. I gained confidence in the single very quickly thanks to the coach’s sharp eye and precise feedback. Beyond the coaching itself, rowing on the Cam is simply a beautiful and unforgettable experience. The setting is stunning, and there is something truly special about learning to scull in such an iconic rowing environment. This was a professionally run, highly personalized lesson that combined excellent instruction with the joy of being on the water. Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to develop your sculling technique, I would strongly recommend Cambridge Rowing Experience. I left feeling more confident, technically stronger, and excited to get back on the water again soon.

We loved it!!! - We went for our company spring event, unfortunately we picked the day when the weather was just awful, but Omar still made the day fantastic and we have been invited back to row on the water which we intend to do soon. You need to do this! - Hi my name is Grace and I'm fourteen. I just completed the 4-day learn to row and I loved it. The leaders Omar and Thea were really friendly and knowledgable. The facility was amazing with lots of high quality boats and ergs. The whole boat house is nice and welcoming. I liked the atmosphere and the good sportsmanship and the beautiful river. I wish I could row all the time.
