A most informative and interesting tour. - A very informative and interesting tour, pointing out many of Calgary’s points of interest that we wouldn’t have found, or known about, on our own. A concise and hand way to also get to know the layout of the city. Most enjoyable.

Knowledgeable Guide with great insight and stories - Our tour guide, Caitlin was quite knowledgeable and gave us great details on what we saw and how significant it was. She also provided keen insight and tied it all to historical events. She relayed stories on the start of the Calgary Stampede and many other institutions. Unfortunately, at the library I lost the group due to a personal issue I had to deal with. Next time.

Amateur tour & guide - We were a group of about 15 participants, made up of Canadians and foreign visitors. Our guide was a recent immigrant to Canada whose spoken English was unfortunately sometimes approximate. Throughout the tour of Calgary, he made statements that were rather negative for Canada's image, citing erroneous facts that were too often taken out of context. As a proud Canadian, I felt uncomfortable on several occasions, to the point where I had to restrain myself from speaking up and correcting him. This guide would do well to do his homework and think about the image of Canada (and Calgary) that he is projecting, especially to visitors from other countries. This three-hour tour was much too long for the material the guide had to present, which was superficial and very thin. There was far too much continuous walking, with no stops at points of interest that could have punctuated the tour, not to mention certain stops where the sites were closed that day (lack of planning?). I must say that I could have easily found most of the information presented by searching the Internet. In short, I believe your guide would benefit from studying the history of Canada and Calgary (about which he told us too little) more thoroughly; setting aside his personal biases, focusing on verified facts that are properly contextualized, and finally; reviewing his choice of words. More training and supervision by other professional guides would probably be beneficial.

Hit or miss - We recently did a 3-hour walking tour of downtown Calgary. While our guide was very nice and personable, the experience itself fell short. The tour felt unstructured, with no clear flow or storytelling to tie things together. At times it was quite long without any short rest stops, which made it tiring. Unfortunately, we didn’t come away having learned much, as the information shared was quite superficial and didn’t provide much depth or insight into the city. With additional training and more focus on structure and content, this could become a much stronger tour.
