Day 1 - Cairo to Bahariya Oasis

Bahariya Oasis - At 6:00 am, the operator will pick you up from your hotel in Giza or Cairo and drive you to Bahariya Oasis, located approximately 350 km east of Cairo. This journey takes about 4 hours. In the past, residents of Bahariya would wait for a passing caravan to travel to the Nile Valley, a journey that took three days. How fortunate we are today!

There will be two coffee breaks during the trip.

On the right-hand side, you will see the railways transporting iron ore deposits to the steel mill in Helwan. Although not of interest to tourists, Bahariya Oasis is Egypt’s primary source of iron ore. The iron ore is extracted from the middle Eocene limestone and is found in four locations known as Managim.

At 10:00, you will arrive at Bahariya Oasis and meet your safari guide, who will take you on an adventure in a 4x4 Jeep.

Black Desert - Travel to the Black Desert, named for the layer of black powder covering its mountains, highlands, and sand. This powder blankets the peaks of some mountains.

White Desert - At 12:00, lunch will be served at El Haize Oasis, located 37 km from Bawiti. Some consider this a separate oasis. During Roman times, the area was prosperous, and many current families have Libyan origins. Before lunch, you can relax in a hot water spring, which quickly alleviates stress. The heat naturally relaxes tense muscles, promoting calmness, well-being, and tranquility.

Valley of Agabat - At 13:00, travel to the Valley of Agabat.

At 14:00, arrive at the Valley of Agabat deep within the White Desert. Experience the otherworldly beauty of this place, which was submerged under the sea millions of years ago. Over time, unique rock formations of limestone, chalk, and possibly sand have developed.

White Desert - At 17:30, set up tents and enjoy the sunset.

At 18:30, as the sky turns pink and a deep fiery orange, the rock shapes fade into the silence. Sitting around a small fire, enjoying a simple meal of chicken, rice, and vegetables, you will find it incredibly satisfying. Bedouin staff will arrange dinner and desert camping. (Vegetarian options are available.)

Note: Nighttime temperatures can drop suddenly in the White Desert, so a proper jacket is necessary for a comfortable night. Don’t worry, all camping equipment, including sleeping bags, tents, and mattresses, is provided.

Day 2 - White Desert to Bahariya Oasis

Bahariya Oasis - At 7:00 am, enjoy breakfast in the desert before driving back to Bahariya Oasis.

At 9:00, on the return journey, visit Crystal Mountain, locally known as Gebel al-Izzaz. This crystal hill, often called the Jewel of the Desert, is formed by quartzite crystals and looks stunning in the sunlight. This natural feature was discovered by accident a few decades ago.
