- Coptic Cairo - Sun Pyramids Tours guide will collect guests at 9:00 AM from their hotel to explore Old Cairo, also known as Christian Coptic Cairo. This area is one of the most significant sites visited by the Holy Family, where their spiritual presence is still strongly felt. Although their stay was brief, the Governor of Fustat, angered by the falling idols at Jesus’ arrival, sought to harm the Child. The family found refuge in a cave, over which the Church of Abu Serga (St Sergius) was later constructed. This site, along with the entire Fort of Babylon area, is a pilgrimage destination for Egyptians and Christians worldwide, exuding an atmosphere of piety and devotion.
- Saints Sergius and Bacchus Church - Visitors can explore the Church of Abu-Sergah and St. Barbara, the Hanging Church, and the ancient Jewish synagogue, Ben Ezra Synagogue. Enjoy a delightful lunch during the tour.
- Hanging Church (El Muallaqa, Sitt Mariam, St Mary) - The Hanging Church is named for its position above a gatehouse of the Babylon Fortress, the Roman fortress in Coptic Cairo (Old Cairo). Its nave is suspended over a passage, and the church is accessed by twenty-nine steps, earning it the nickname “the Staircase Church” by early travelers. The land has risen about six meters since the Roman era, so the Roman tower is mostly buried, diminishing the church’s elevated appearance.
- Cairo Citadel - Continue the tour with a visit to The Citadel of Cairo, where the renowned Mohamed Ali Mosque, also known as the Alabaster Mosque, is located.
- Mosque of Muhammad Ali - The Great Mosque of Muhammad Ali Pasha, or Alabaster Mosque, is situated in the Citadel of Cairo, Egypt, and was commissioned by Muhammad Ali Pasha between 1830 and 1848.
- Gray Mosque (El-Aqmar Mosque) - Proceed to the northern part of the city, in El Darb El Asfar, the oldest quarter of Islamic Cairo monuments. Here, visitors can see the Barqouq Mosque & School in Nahassen, El Aqmar Mosque, the Mosque of El Saleh Tala, The Blue Mosque, the Dome, Hospital & School of Qalawoon, and more.
Meals: Lunch at a local restaurant.
Return to the hotel.
- Sharia Al Mu’izz Li-Din Allah - Visit one of Egypt’s oldest streets, “El Moez Le Din Allah” Street, a testament to historical Cairo with various monuments lining both sides, including Bab El Fetouh and Bab El Nasr.
