The land has risen about six meters since the Roman era, so the Roman tower is mostly buried, diminishing the church’s elevated appearance.

• Gray Mosque (El-Aqmar Mosque) - Proceed to the northern part of the city, in El Darb El Asfar, the oldest quarter of Islamic Cairo monuments.
