- Coptic Cairo - Sun Pyramids Tours guide will pick you up at 9:00 AM from your hotel to explore Old Cairo, also known as Christian Coptic Cairo. This area is one of the most significant sites visited by the Holy Family, where their spiritual presence is still strongly felt. Although their stay was brief, as the Governor of what was then Fustat sought to harm the Child due to the falling idols at Jesus’ approach, they found refuge in a cave. Above this cave, the Church of Abu Serga (St. Sergius) was later constructed. This entire area, including the Fort of Babylon, is a pilgrimage destination for Egyptians and Christians worldwide. The district exudes an atmosphere of piety and devotion.
- Saints Sergius and Bacchus Church - Here, you can visit and enter the Church of Abu-Sergah and St. Barbara, the Hanging Church, and the old Jewish synagogue – Ben Ezra Synagogue. Enjoy a delicious lunch.
- Hanging Church (El Muallaqa, Sitt Mariam, St Mary) - The Hanging Church is named for its location above a gatehouse of the Babylon Fortress, the Roman fortress in Coptic Cairo (Old Cairo); its nave is suspended over a passage. The church is accessed by twenty-nine steps, leading early travelers to Cairo to call it “the Staircase Church.” The land surface has risen by about six meters since the Roman period, so the Roman tower is mostly buried, reducing the visual impact of the church’s elevated position.
- Cairo Citadel - Continue to the Citadel of Cairo, where you can visit the most famous mosque in Cairo, Mohamed Ali’s mosque, also known as the Alabaster Mosque.
- Mosque of Muhammad Ali - The Great Mosque of Muhammad Ali Pasha, or Alabaster Mosque, is located in the Citadel of Cairo, Egypt, and was commissioned by Muhammad Ali Pasha between 1830 and 1848.
- Gray Mosque (El-Aqmar Mosque) - Then proceed to the northern side of the city, in El Darb El Asfar, the oldest quarter of Islamic Cairo monuments. Here, you can visit Barqouq Mosque & School in Nahassen, El Aqmar Mosque, the Mosque of El Saleh Tala, The Blue Mosque, the Dome, Hospital & School of Qalawoon, and more.
Meals: Lunch at a local restaurant.
Return to your hotel.
- Sharia Al Mu’izz Li-Din Allah - Visit one of the oldest streets in Egypt, “El Moez Le Din Allah” Street, a testament to historical Cairo with various monuments along both sides, including Bab El Fetouh and Bab El Nasr.
Note: Pick-up/drop-off from Cairo airport, Sphinx airport, New Administrative Capital, New Cairo, Heliopolis, Badr City, Shorouk, Rehab, Obour, Sheraton Almatar, Sheikh Zayed City, Ring Rd, Mirage City, Meridian Airport, or Madinaty City will incur an additional cost.
