Put Your Worries Aside: Egypt is Magnificent ! - I travel a great deal in my work and leisure, and so am always cautious about security. But security in Egypt seems fine now; and as crowds are picking up, this may be the best time to visit. I came across Cleopatra Egypt Tours quite coincidentally on-line when I looked to book a private tour to Dahshur (Not to be missed: Think Giza without the crowds and hawkers). And after communicating with Cleopatra manager Massimo, it seemed easy to arrange visits to other slightly “out-of-the-way” sights. My Egyptologist guide “Sam”, a very likeable and enthusiastic fellow, was not only knowledgeable on the sights, but shared a range of interests in history, art, photography, music, and fossils (of which there are many surrounding the pyramids). During a photo stop, we ran into a group of local Egyptology students led by a Professor that Sam knew. Sam was asked to briefly address the students, and one could see in the students’ riveted expressions, that here was not only a guide, but a truly effective teacher (as I also had appreciated). At the close of my touring, I felt that I had selected the “right” tour company, which in turn put together an outstanding itinerary with a truly exceptional Egyptologist guide.
