- Saqqarah - The guide will collect guests from their hotel or the airport in a private minivan to visit Sakkara, situated just 27 km southwest of Cairo. Visitors will explore the Step Pyramid, built for King Zoser, which is a significant milestone in the evolution of pyramid construction, transitioning from a simple mastaba to its well-known form. The Sakkara pyramid is a vast necropolis, serving as the final resting place for kings, noblemen, lesser Egyptians, and mummified animals. Throughout the entire pharaonic period, especially during the Old Kingdom and the Late Period, Sakkara’s desert sands were a hub of tomb building, funerary processions, and cult ceremonies for the deceased.
- Memphis and Sakkara - Next, guests will visit Memphis City, the ancient capital of Egypt, home to the colossal statue of Ramses II and the magnificent Alabaster Sphinx. This city dates back to 3100 B.C. Memphis was originally known as the “White Wall,” likely referring to the king’s palace constructed with whitewashed bricks, until the 26th century BC. The name Memphis is a Greek translation of the Egyptian Men-nefer, named after a nearby pyramid built in the 6th Dynasty.
- Mit Rahina Museum - This special museum houses the renowned statue of King Ramesses the Great from 1279 BC. The enormous limestone statue is in remarkable condition. Ramesses the Great ruled the Egyptian empire for approximately 67 years.
- The Sphinx of Memphis - The Sphinx of Memphis is a stone sphinx located near the remnants of Memphis, Egypt. Made from Egyptian Alabaster, it remains in excellent condition and may represent the famous Queen Hatshepsut from 1479 BC. After this visit, guests will begin their journey back to their hotel.
- Pyramids of Dahshour - The Red Pyramid, also known as the North Pyramid, is the largest of the three major pyramids at the Dahshur necropolis in Cairo, Egypt. Named for the rusty reddish color of its red limestone stones, it is the third largest Egyptian pyramid, following those of Khufu and Khafra at Giza. It is believed to be Egypt’s first successful “true” smooth-sided pyramid. Locals call the Red Pyramid el-heram el-watwaat, meaning the Bat Pyramid. Originally, it was covered with white Tura limestone, but only a few stones remain at the base corners. During the Middle Ages, much of the white Tura limestone was removed for construction in Cairo, exposing the red limestone beneath. The tour concludes with a drop-off at the customer’s hotel in Cairo or Giza.
- Cairo Nile Felucca Tours - Guests will then drive from Giza to Cairo City Center to enjoy a Nile trip on a traditional Egyptian boat known as a Felucca. They will enjoy an hour of sailing on the Nile, and after the tour, they will be driven back to their hotel.
