The city’s layout included a main street extending from Bab Zuweila in the south to Bab Al-Futuh in the north, parallel to the Gulf, known as the Great Street. It embodies the city’s spirit, combining Egyptian, Ottoman, Andalusian, and Byzantine architectural styles in mosques, fountains, kottaib, takaya, and houses.
• Mosque-Madrassa of al Ghouri - The Qansuh Al-Ghouri Agency, established during the reign of Qansuh Al-Ghouri in 909 AH - 1504 AD, is located on Muhammad Abdo Street, off Al-Azhar Street.

The agency features a rectangular open courtyard, surrounded by rooms on five floors. Its main facade is on the south side, with the primary entrance to the agency. Access to the first floor is via a stone staircase. The first floor contains about 30 holders, while the three upper floors have 29 houses. It is believed that the ground and first-floor carriers were used as storage for merchants, and most visitors to this agency were likely merchants.
