Visit the Great Pyramids of Giza, Sphinx, Sakkara, and Memphis
Pyramids of Giza - After breakfast, embark on a tour to the Pyramids and Sphinx. The first stop will be the Pyramids of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, constructed by pharaohs between 2590 BC and 2480 BC. Explore the Great Pyramid and enter the Queen’s Pyramid. Discover the secrets of the Sphinx, one of the largest monolithic statues in history. After capturing beautiful photos, proceed to Sakkara to see the step pyramid of King Zoser, the oldest pyramid in Egypt. Then, visit Memphis, the first capital of Egypt, to view the magnificent statue of King Ramses the Great, one of Egypt’s most renowned rulers. Return to Cairo for another night at your hotel.
Saqqara (Sakkara) Pyramids - The most prominent feature of Saqqara is the Step Pyramid, the tomb of the Third Dynasty ruler Djoser, built by Imhotep. It is considered the earliest major stone structure in Egypt. The pyramid’s form evolved from the large mastabas of the First and Second Dynasties, with six steps created by adding successive layers of masonry. Standing 60 meters high, it is constructed from locally quarried clay sandstone. Entry is no longer permitted due to safety concerns. The pyramid’s chambers and passages were used for the burial of the King’s close relatives and for storing grave goods.
Mit Rahina Museum - Memphis was the ancient capital of Aneb-Hetch, the first nome of Lower Egypt. Its ruins are near the town of Mit Rahina.
After an amazing day tour, return comfortably to your hotel. Overnight stay in Cairo.
Explore Cairo: The Egyptian Museum, Old Cairo, and Bazaar
The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities - Commonly known as the Egyptian Museum or Museum of Cairo, it houses an extensive collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts. With 120,000 items, a representative selection is on display, while the rest are in storerooms.
Khan Al-Khalili - Khan el-Khalili is a major market in the historic center of Islamic Cairo. The bazaar district is a key attraction for both tourists and locals.
Coptic Cairo - Coptic Cairo is part of Old Cairo, featuring the Babylon Fortress, the Coptic Museum, the Hanging Church, the Greek Church of St. George, and many other Coptic churches and historical sites. Christian tradition holds that the Holy Family visited this area, staying at the site of Saints Sergius and Bacchus Church (Abu Serga). Coptic Cairo was a Christian stronghold until the Islamic era, though most current church buildings were constructed after the 7th-century Muslim conquest.
