This monumental Islamic site dates back to the 11th century and was constructed by the renowned warrior Saladin and his minister. The Citadel boasts 13 fortified towers and 7 mosques, serving as the seat of government and residence for rulers for over 700 years. It’s a fantastic opportunity to delve into Egypt’s modern history. Following this, a visit to the magnificent Mohammed Ali Mosque awaits.
