- Unknown Soldier Memorial - The Monument to the Unknown Soldier in Nasr City is a pyramid-shaped monument in Cairo, located in the suburb of Nasr City. Designed by Egyptian artist Sami Rafie, it was built under the orders of the late Egyptian President Anwar Sadat to honor Egyptians who lost their lives in the War of Attrition and the October 1973 War. The site was also chosen as the burial place for President Sadat following his assassination in October 1981.
