Madrasa El Sultan Hassan, established by Sultan Hassan in 1356 A.D. This mosque was designed to include schools for all four Sunni schools of thought: Shafi’i, Maliki, Hanafi, and Hanbali. The tour then moves to Al-Azhar Mosque in Cairo, also known as the mosque of the most resplendent. Commissioned by Al-Mu’izz li-Din Allah of the Fatimid Caliphate for the new capital city in 970, its name is believed to honor the Islamic prophet Muhammad’s daughter Fatimah, a revered figure in Islam, known as Az-Zahrā, the shining or resplendent one. It was the first mosque established in Cairo, a city now known as “the City of a Thousand Minarets.” - Al-Hussein Mosque - The tour then heads to Khan El Khalili Bazaars, famous for their exquisite brassware, copper, perfumes, leather, silver, gold, antiques, and more.
Conclude the day tour with a visit to El Hussein Mosque in Cairo, a revered mosque believed to be the burial site of the head of the Prophet Muhammad’s grandson. At the end of the tour, the guide will return guests to their hotel in Cairo.
