Full Day Tour of Giza
Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - At 8:00 AM, an Egyptologist tour guide will accompany you on a full-day tour to visit the Great Pyramids - Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos. Then, visit the Valley Temple, where priests mummified King Chephren, the owner of the second pyramid at the Giza Plateau. Here, you can also get a close-up view of the Sphinx, the legendary guardian with a lion’s body and the head of King Chephren.
Saqqarah - Continue your tour to Saqqara to see the Step Pyramid, built for King Zoser. This was the first pyramid constructed by the Egyptians and is attributed to Imhotep, a vizier later deified for his achievements. Then, proceed to Memphis City, the ancient capital of Egypt, to see the colossal statue of Ramses II and the great Alabaster Sphinx. This city dates back to 3100 B.C.
Day 3: Tour of the Egyptian Museum, Citadel, and Bazaar
The Egyptian Museum - At 8:00 AM, pick up from your hotel to start a full-day tour of the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, which displays the largest and most valuable collection of Egyptian art in the world. It features over 250,000 genuine artifacts dating back 5,000 years, including a special exhibit dedicated to Tutankhamen, showcasing treasures, gold, and jewelry buried in his tomb for over 3,500 years until their discovery in the 1920s.
Cairo Citadel - Then, move to the Citadel of Saladin to visit the famous Mohamed Ali Mosque, also known as the Alabaster Mosque.
Coptic Cairo - Visit Old Cairo to explore major attractions such as the Hanging Church, the Ben Ezra Synagogue, the Church of St. Barbara, and the Church of Abu Serga, one of Cairo’s oldest Coptic churches.
Khan Al-Khalili - Finally, visit Khan El Khalili Bazaars, renowned for fine brassware, copper, perfumes, leather, silver, gold, antiques, and more.
Day 4: Full Day Tour of Alexandria
Ancient Roman Theater, Alexandria - At 7:00 AM, transfer from Cairo to Alexandria in a modern A/C vehicle. Upon arrival, begin your trip by visiting the Roman Theater, which features marble seats for up to 800 spectators, galleries, mosaic flooring, and a pleasure garden surrounded by Roman villas and baths.
Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa - Next, visit the Catacombs, a Roman burial site where the family tomb reveals a blend of Egyptian and Roman art and architecture. Descend below ground to explore the tomb and Caracalla Hall of Kom El-Shoqafa, which includes tombs on three levels and the Triclinium, where relatives feasted the dead. Inside, there are 2nd-century AD statues of Sobek and Anubis wearing Roman armor.
Pompey’s Pillar - Lunch is included between visits at a high-quality local seafood restaurant. Then, visit Pompey’s Pillar, an 82-foot (25-meter) granite column built to honor Emperor Diocletian, who saved the besieged city and provided food to its starving people. Proceed to the Alexandria Library, which houses a copy of every book published worldwide, making it one of the great literary sites globally. The library also features exhibitions on Egypt’s history and rare antique books. From outside, visit the Qaytbay Citadel, a 15th-century fortress on the Mediterranean coast, established in 1477 AD by Sultan Al-Ashraf Qa’it Bay. The Citadel is located on the site of the Pharos Island. After completing the visits, return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
