Great alternative - Due to a monsoon, we weren't able to travel to the Great Barrier Reef. We went to the aquarium instead and got to see a lot of the creatures we would have seen, so we were greatful for that.

Try the night tour, you won’t regret it! - I did the night tour with Georgia. She was phenomenal! I learnt so much with her, didn’t the time passing by. I love that she also gives a voice to all these beautiful, sometimes misunderstood creatures and explain the why of their behaviours. It’s been an amazing experience!

One of the BEST Aquariums I have visited. - A visit to the Cairns Aquarium is an absolute must. We decided to stop by on a gloomy, rainy day and were so glad we did. At the reception desk, Bradley was incredibly friendly and helpful; his professional attitude ensured we received the correct rate and understood the layout of the facility perfectly. While we initially planned to stay for just a few hours, we ended up staying for over four and a half—and honestly, we could have stayed longer. The aquarium features eleven unique ecosystems and engaging presentations at various tanks throughout the day. With over 16,000 animals on display, including many species found only in Australia, it is a world-class experience. Whether you are traveling solo, as a couple, or with family, this is a truly special place to visit while in Cairns.

Loved it! - Amazing experience, absolute must do in Cairns! The aquarium is fantastic and there are free educational talks that you can watch while walking through. The presenters are engaging and knowledgeable! We did the turtle hospital tour which was definitely the highlight! Our guide Colleen was great and very passionate!

Highly recommend this experience - Amazing place to those who want to visit the aquarium. Highly recommend it. The staff are amazing and took the time to come up to us as it was our son’s birthday and all he wanted for his birthday was to visit the aquarium and they did not disappoint. It such a beautiful place to spend the day. All animals are from North Queensland and you get a feel for what they have around here. New and so much better then the aquarium in Sydney.

Compact but high-capacity aquarium - It's a short block away from the Central Station and the night market, but it's almost in the heart of the city and easy to walk to. It was likely to be more than two hours later when I looked around inside. The kids were so excited from the booth in the first half that they were worried if they would make it all the way to the end, but they were also very happy with the sharks and the big tank at the end.

Dont prepay - DO NOT PRE BOOK/PAY FOR TICKETS ONLINE! We waited a LONG time in line in the heat for 'priority/pre paid' whilst other line went so much faster! They need to fix their process for this, it was ridiculous! Put a dampener on the visit. Otherwise nice displays and tanks were clean
