Botanical gardens beautiful - Wish there was a way to translate the lovely smell of the gardens to pictures. Guide allowed group by themselves but also spent time with group introducing group to gardens and sharing information on the different botanical varieties. I had enough time on my own to walk the Jaguar trail. Lunch at the rancho was well organized. The food was fine but know you have to pay for lunch and it ran from 800 to 1000 pesos but if fed two people. Also check your bill as they add tip without specifying it is tip. The Tequila taster guide was excellent. I've done a similar trip before and overall it is a very nice experience.

Worth it! - Wear good. Walking, sandals or runners. You need at least 2 hours. Some would probably enjoy four, be sure to check out the Jaguar trail and go down to the river. If you've got a lot of time to spend in the gardens, wear your bathing suit and bring a small towel to dry your feet off and join the many others swimming in the shallow River. So many wonderful plants to see. Do check out the cemetery and the dog cemetery. Pretty interesting. I didn't eat at the restaurant about some of my travel companions did and said it was very good we had a tour guide named Gus. He was not very knowledgeable about the plants but he had vast knowledge of local folklore and legends and traditions and that was very interesting. It's a long drive down but was stopping to pick up people along the way. When you're almost there, you stop at a small family-operated organic coffee place which is pretty interesting. The tour that I was on also did a stop at a tequila tasting demonstration. Which initially I wasn't too keen on but again it turned out to be very interesting. Learned a lot about tequila that I didn't know. They also have a restaurant there which is actually relatively expensive. But again, you can ask for a half order and then you can ask them to split it for two people, which for two women was more than enough. The food is very fresh and very well prepared. There are a few spots where you can pull around the side of the road and have a beautiful view of the ocean and our driver. Gus did just that and I got some fabulous pictures. He also took us into a tiny village just off the highway. That is at the point where a river meets the ocean and water taxis leave for Puerto Vallarta. We spent about a half an hour there and again was very interesting. Highly recommend this tour. I was one of the first to pick up in busarias and as a result was gone for 10 hours but the bus ride is half of the learning experience.

Worth visiting place! - Very peaceful and relaxing place. That said, I have a few points I was not happy about. Restaurant didn’t provide menu and charged arm and the leg at the end. Uber app doesn’t work there, so you can only use taxi or public bus that goes only to Puerto Vallarta.
