Fantastic - Amazing! The trip was 2.5hrs but ended up nearly 3.5hrs as the guide was in constant communication with other boats out at sea and took us further out than usual to ensure we saw the dolphins. The ride out and back was relaxing and peaceful and the time we were lucky enough to spend watching the dolphins in their natural environment was just wonderful. They were swimming all around and under the boat. So beautiful to see. Really good value for money, party of 8 and we easily booked online the day before the trip. Obviously it is pot luck whether the dolphins are there or not but the guide certainly did everything in his power to make sure we were not disappointed. Highly recommended.

The BEST boat tours in the area! - We have used this company for the last few years for boat tours. The guides are so friendly and knowledgeable and it’s always such a fun and relaxed atmosphere whichever trip you choose to do. Previously we have done the island tour from Olhao twice and that’s a brilliant trip. You stop off on a couple of islands and can swim or have a drink in one of the bars, or both! This time we did the morning dolphin trip and it was fantastic! We saw the Japanese tuna farm off Olhao and I think we must have seen at least 20 dolphins during the trip. At one point two dolphins came super close to the boat and swam underneath and next to us, it was fabulous! We always do a trip with this company whenever we stay in Tavira, it’s such good value for money and so enjoyable. The best place to book is in the reception area of the Vila Galé Albacora. Just ask for Dolphin boy and he will help you!

Don't believe the claimed 95% success rate - The operator's website claims a 95% success rate at encountering dolphins. Take this with a pinch of salt. The boat driver / guide said they had seen them on 8 of the previous 11 tours when we embarked which is a 72% success rate, not close to 95%. We encountered no dolphins on a clear July day in calm waters with perfect visibility which would mean 4 of the last 12 tours saw no dolphins or a success rate of 66%, if the guide was being honest. We always knew there was a chance of not seeing a wild animal in a vast ocean, but do feel we were missold the likelihood of seeing dolphins. Had we seen them I am sure I would have given a better rating, but without the dolphin experience it is a slow, tedious 2.5 hours watching nothing more exciting than seagulls.

SCHADE - On the first tour 5 days ago with a local skipper we were very satisfied. Today we had another boatmaster who presented himself to us just a few days ago as a student of marine science. He wasn't quite as confident in handling the boat. The wind was stronger today with relatively high waves after the canal exit , although not so really heavy compared to other boat tours we have had in recent years. As laymen, we can’t really judge this objectively, ultimately safety matters. The crew did not manage to get us to the dolphin spot and turned back after only an hour. It didn't look like a search to us. There was just the lapidary phrase that dolphins are wild animals and you're not always lucky. That is clear, but we lacked any commitment today. Even without sighting dolphins one could have imparted knowledge about the animals to the children on board, especially since all children had the same mother tongue as the German crew. We were then back well before the agreed time - bad luck.

Dolphins - Awful!! We were never told we may not see any dolphins. After 5 hours in the high seas we didn’t see anything.

Unexperienced sailor, no communication and NO DOLPHINS - We took the Dolphin Trip with our 2 kids 2 weeks ago from the port in Fuseta. The woman at the box office wasn't really friendly or informative when we bought the tickets but we hoped the tour would make up for that. Unfortunately it was the worst guided holiday trip we ever took! They forgot to tell us that it could get very cold on the boat so we were surprised to see the 2 guides fully dressed with jackets and jeans. And yes it got só freezing cold! They were young and very nervous and shy, so the communication was almost zero. First we got stuck in low tide, strange because that's so common in Fuseta, they got frustrated and had big discussions, Not very comforting, Then we entered open water. There were absolutely no other boats in the area, so they just went full speed to...well...nowhere. The boat is small and quite old, the engine rages, the water is not blue but deep black. And after about an hour we already knew they would never find dolphins. I asked the girl where we were going, but her english was too poor to get a solid answer. They made more speed, banging on the waves. Nice if you planned a speedboattrip but these were family's that were super cold wanting to see those dolphins, which they said we had 95% chance of spotting. The 2 "guides" clearly had no clue where they had to go. Eventually, after 3,5 hours of engine noise, dark open water, shaking and not any information about what to expect (about the dolphins, the population, other wildlife, anything!),lwe arrived at the dock again. Their response: "sorry". I asked at the box office if I could get a complaint form to get our money back, 120,- euros! But the guy said he was new, he didn't know what to do. It took so much time and we just wanted to go! I'm still figuring out how to get our money back, because this was just false pretenses :(

Underwhelming operator - The battery died after 1 hour sailing. This is already a potential indication of poor maintenance of their boats. Skipper called messenger to get him sail over with a new battery. However: battery of the other boat diee too.. after over 1 hour floating in the ocean with the result that almost half of the passengers went sea sick and were actually vomating, finally a 2nd boat appeared with a spare battery. This battery was an old one. So very poor maintenance of their ships. Be warned!

Late starting, dodgy boat, no dolphins and 4 hours staring at water - The first thing I have to say is that after a struggle we did get our miney back but this was a trip from hell. We arrived early as advised but sadly the message didn't get to the boat crew who were late. We set off 30 minutes late and then endured 4 hours of staring at water as the boat developed problems. It wa sobvious that no dolphins would be seen as there were no other boats in the area. Clearly the other boats having at least 30 minutes start on us saw the dolphins. because we stayed out 4 hours staring at lots and lots of water our day was ruined. When we tried to get our money back it was only the threat of filling in the Complaints Book that convinced them we could get our money back. Originally they tried to tell us that we had seen dolphins. I don't think so. I would recommend taking the bat from Fuseta as it is nearer to the dolphin feeding area. It is at least 30 minutes from Cabanas to where Fuseta is.
