Relaxed tour off the beaten track - It was a nice tour of a neighborhood that you wouldn't have visited otherwise as a tourist. You should definitely bring enough hunger and wear good comfortable shoes, because there are a few steps to take between meals! Mathias was a very pleasant guide who knew a lot to tell without boring or stressing you. We had a mixed tour in English with German additions and were completely satisfied and actually so full that dinner could be cancelled. This was despite the Waffle Man spontaneously declaring Christmas holidays and consequently being cancelled. In the end, we had the traditional Norwegian Christmas dinner with lamb and turnip because everyone had rejected the fish soup in advance. So our pre-Christmas tour was a complete success and we say thank you again to Mathias!

Don't miss this tour! - Super fun afternoon with Mathias and group! He taught us about the history of the Norway's food bringing much more enjoyment to the food than what we would have experienced otherwise. Mathias was very funny and knowledgeable. Everyone had an excellent time!

Excellent blend of local flavors and info - Our guide Mathias was full of great info about Oslo, past and present, that added richness to the food tour experience. He was thoughtful and considerate of the needs and preferences of our group members, even reaching out the day before by text to request info to guide his selections. He came prepared with maps and pictures, helpful for visual types, and was flexible and understanding when the group wanted to linger in a particular spot. Overall, there was a good amount of food over the course of our afternoon tour, but the pacing made it manageable (still, we didn’t have sufficient appetite to go out for dinner later). The tour involves a considerable amount of walking, which was fine for us (reasonably active 58-year-olds, used to traveling on foot), but might be challenging for those who aren’t accustomed to physical activity.

A fun afternoon in Oslo. - We had a wonderful tour with Mathias. Beyond sampling great food, we learned a lot of Oslo and Norway history. Mathias has a great love for food and for Oslo, and it totally came thru in his tour. We highly recommend!

This was such a fun way... - This was such a fun way to see Oslo and try some of its signature foods! Plus it got me out of the city center. The neighborhood is very fun and has a lot a good history. Though it's a food-centered tour, there were still a few stops and information on some of the great street art and history of the neighborhood. The tour guide Matthias was very knowledgeable, great at communicating, and responsive to our needs and asks. It was nice to get started with coffee, sodas, and pastries and introduce ourselves to the group. Everything was great from the hot dog, waffles, small bites (cheese, charcuterie, salmon, crab, bread), fish soup, and beers. The fish soup was most amazing! I attended alone as it was a solo trip but everyone in the group was extremely kind and friendly, and the whole experience was definitely a highlight of my time in Oslo. It did go on a little long around 4 hours, so would recommend carving out a big part of your afternoon and early evening for this, but it was well worth it!

Show Up Hungry! - Be ready to EAT! Lots of food, but lots of walking (so you balance the food, haha) in a really nice, more laid back section of Oslo. We stopped at places of historical significance and relaxed and ate local food at various venues. It was a good tour.

Walking tour come hungry - Food was good and a representation of Norway. We made 5 stops. I wish the guide was a little more informative when we stop for food or even walking along tour. We really didn’t receive any history or much information about Copenhagen and the food.

Alternative tour, you can, but you don't have to! But - Super type as a guide, but unfortunately not the typical Oslo round! Alternative neighborhood, you can do, but you don't have to!
