- Knik Glacier - Serving as the backdrop for this paddling tour, the largest glacier in South Central Alaska offers a stunning view. This glacier-formed valley is home to a variety of wildlife, including moose, bears, eagles, and salmon, although sightings cannot be guaranteed. A stop will be made at a viewpoint of the majestic Knik Glacier, perfect for taking photos, weather permitting.
- Knik River - After capturing photos of the distant Knik Glacier, participants will float along the Knik River back to the starting point at the Old Glen Highway Bridge, where the journey began.

This tour navigates one of the most breathtaking landscapes and offers panoramic views throughout Southcentral Alaska and the Mat Su Valley. Witness salmon swimming beneath your paddle craft as they journey to their spawning sites. Additionally, enjoy sightings of ducks and eagles soaring above, and perhaps even spot a moose enjoying a meal in the water.
The adventure begins with paddling across Jim Lake, followed by a brief overland portage into Jim Creek. The journey concludes on the shores of the Knik River, which originates from the Knik Glacier. While there, capture stunning photos with the glacier as a backdrop. The Knik Glacier, the source of the Knik River, is the largest glacier in Southcentral Alaska. After this short photo opportunity and scenic viewing, the paddle continues down the Knik River to the exit point at the old Knik River Bridge.
- Children 10 and under can ride along in a parent or guardian boat.
- Lap children are a one to one ratio, with their adult, other children can come but will be required to sit in their own seat on the paddle craft.
- This is tour is beginner kayakers; however, you need to be comfortable with paddling your own kayak through cold water, waves, and wind, and with walking though mud.
